I. Editorial: The Synod for Africa?

From 4 to 25 October 2009 at the Vatican, 1297 bishops from 153 countries in Africa have gathered around Pope Benedict XVI. A few months ago, the Holy Father had an apostolic visit to Cameroon and Angola, where he had met with delegates from African bishops' conferences and with them he developed the program of the Synod. The Western media had shouted loud, but even then the African bishops had responded by speaking of "dictatorship of the West" and "neo-colonialism culture."
October 4, at the opening of the synod, Benedict XVI, referring to the preparatory document, spoke of "spiritual toxic waste" exported to Africa by the West. The major axis defined the early sessions is obvious: the family of God in Africa's mission is to transform this vast continent, and keep the lungs healthy spiritual releasing all fears the people, ensuring an ongoing conversion and looking squarely at the difficulties and problems of the entire African society.

At various times, courageous voices have been raised to warn against Western cultural imperialism and against its contagion. Thus, in his speech, Cardinal Sarr, archbishop of Dakar, a brilliant and uninhibited prelate said: "We Africans, we are living in great esteem from its beginning to its end. We have inherited from our ancestors wisdom of life and a love of life reinforced by the Christian religion. Imperialism Western claims that sexuality is a pleasure. By cons, we say it is a collaborative creation by God. "

In Africa, say the bishops in each diocese, the seminar is full of seminarians intent on preparing for the priesthood. Our mission is to train all bishops for the priesthood. Also African families are a valuable asset in themselves and for society as a whole. In the area of families, the Catholic Church is invited to play a leading role.

In various African countries themselves up many universities for the development of "knowledge". Here too the Church has a great mission: training of an elite in various fields, teaching the social doctrine of the Church, creating a teaching value.

The last few days have been reserved in the formulation of projects for various African countries and the establishment of structures of a permanent dialogue between the churches from Tunis to Cape Town. Africa is running.

Conclusions Synod shall be given to Pope told the bishops 24-10:

"Now, the term 'Church-Family of God 'is no longer just a concept, an idea, but a living experience of those weeks we were really united here as the Family of God (...). The theme in itself represented a difficult challenge, with two dangers, I would say. The theme 'Reconciliation, Justice and Peace' certainly implies a strong political dimension (...). The other danger was - just to escape the temptation - to withdraw into a purely spiritual world, in an abstract world and beautiful, but that is not realistic (...). It was the great problem of the Synod, and it seems to me that, thank God, we managed to solve it, This represents for me a source of gratitude, because the development of post-synodal document is so much easier. " The spokesman for the bishops said: "The synod fathers do not wear gloves, the message is sharp."

II. Anglicans' FINALLY BACK AT HOME "

Reverend Anthony John Hepworth, Primate of the Traditional Anglican Communion (TAC), founded 30 years ago in North America because of women's ordination and gay marriage , is the main actor of some approximation of Anglicans with the Roman Catholic Church. It responds exclusively to Family Issues Christian (31-10, at pp. 8-12): "The night I heard the pope's decision, he said, I called the bishops of the forty-four countries where we operate and we cried with joy ... It is over four hundred years that Anglicans awaited this day. "

"On behalf of the 400,000 faithful of the TAC, I would say our immense gratitude to the pope! We prayed and fasted that day comes ... Finally, we move from uncertainty to certainty, since we are now under the authority of one who has received from Christ's delegation to establish the truth. We are finally back home! He believes that Cardinal Newman was a leading figure in the reconciliation with the Roman Catholic roots: "The Pope's decision is the answer to tears and prayer of Cardinal Newman! The Primate of Nigeria (20 million followers) also admits that this decision does reflect Rome; other churches in Africa and Asia also threatens to break.

Pope has indeed made history, announcing an Apostolic Constitution, the fruit of 40 years of ecumenical dialogue. The Catholic Church is ready to host the Anglicans who seek full communion with Rome (the "Anglo-Catholics"), while retaining their liturgy: in fact there are already twenty rites in the Catholic Church. It will create "ordinariates (dioceses) worldwide and married former Anglican priests will be ordained as Catholic priests. The bishops again become married priests, but future seminarians will commit to celibacy, only the bishops remain unmarried bishops. In short, a Catholic does not make a more Anglican less. It is believed that thousands of priests and dozens of bishops will be seduced by this opening. Instead of individual conversions, the Pope - that's new - calls for reconciliation in droves. "This is the biggest event since the beginnings of our church! "Exclaims St. Parkinson lay London to a combination of 5 bishops, 1,000 priests and 7,000 faithful.

course there are negative reactions who see a way to entice the Anglican communities. "The Church of England is in shock" (the Times), "The shot is deadly and it sounded the death knell of the established church" (National Secular Society). We really regret that Sunday (1-11) is shown critical with the headline "The Anglicans unhappy! Yet

Vincent Gerard Nichols, Catholic Archbishop of Westminster and Rowan Williams, Anglican Archbishop of Canterbury have made a joint statement in London on October 20. Excerpts: "The announcement today of the Apostolic Constitution is an answer given by Pope Benedict XVI to numerous requests for several years at Holy groups of Anglicans who wish to join in a full and visible communion with the Roman Catholic Church, and with a desire to declare that they share a common Catholic faith and accept the Petrine ministry as Christ has willed for his Church. "

Editorial Le Figaro (22-10), by Yves Thréard: "The Pope, as many observers have been pleased to present as a Catholic sectarian (...), is currently administering a lesson to all critics steeped in prejudice, ignorance and caricatures (...). It was announced transitional pope, he will perhaps be one of reconciliation: 'Have faith', he had launched at the beginning of his pontificate (...). He plays cards on the table, causing the spirit of concord (...). His proselytizing is not militant. He appealed first to the intelligence .
We think the suddenness of this information would also be a positive signal to the fundamentalists seeking communion with Rome: 26-10 began discussions with the doctrinal Lefebvrists ...

III. GOOD NEWS

Vocations

"Dare to ask the Lord for the grace of a priestly vocation in your family." Prefect of the Congregation for the Clergy, Cardinal Claudio Hummes has called "deeply Christian families" have not "fear the Lord chooses one of (their) children to be a priest (from Christian Family, 15 / 08/09). "We can not do without priests. Our situation has become that of a mission country. The former mission countries - Africa Star - give us priests today. This is because mothers transmitting their son on their knees, unconditional love of Jesus, led in turn to vocations to hatch "(Marie-Joëlle Guillaune, Family Christian, 7-11).

Vitality of the Community of St. John. 15 priests and 14 deacons to be ordained to come Vezelay, in this year priesthood. The Community of St. John has 530 brothers, 200 priests from 35 countries, in 60 priories. The founder, the Dominican Marie-Dominique Philippe (1912-2006), wanted to establish small communities (silent prayer life and apostolic service to the Church). Already present in Belgium and Libramont Banneux, she will settle in 2010 Jette (Brussels) in the convent of La Madeleine, left by the Redemptorists: a monastery in the city, a place of meditation and listening. Priority: supporting youth and families (youth camps, Sunday families, family session, children worship, marriage preparation, home to the blockade, etc.. (According to Stella Maris, 09/09 and Families United, 09/09).

Moms and vocations in France. This country has become a mission country. If the former mission countries (Africa in the lead) give us priests today, it is because "moms, transmitting to their son on their knees, unconditional love of Jesus, led in turn to vocations to hatch "(after Guillaume A.-M., Family Christian, 7-11-09).

Belgium: 5 new seminarians in Flanders; total seminarians, unknown. French-speaking Belgium: 11 new. Total: Liège (including 3 new) 8: Namur 32 (including 8 new) Mechelen-Brussels French: 3 (no new); Tournai 3 (no again).

"On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have posted watchmen: day and night, they will never be silent" (Isaiah, 62, 6).

Defense Life

Surprising news from UNAIDS, the official organ of prevention against AIDS: the male and female condoms are guaranteed quality products only currently available to protect against STDs, including HIV. However, aside from abstinence, no protective method is 100% and condom use can not guarantee protection absolute against STIs!

Prenatal diagnosis and preimplantation. Francois Fillon, in a letter to the State Council on February 11, 2008 revision of the bioethics law, became concerned about the use of prenatal diagnosis and preimplantation: "The provisions governing the practice ensure an application Effective rule against any eugenic practice? "(After Gènéthique, 02/09).

Winds of Change in the Netherlands? A Congress for the defense of life and family was held in The Hague. In this country of excessive tolerance, a minister Liberal, despite pressure from his party who left the Congress, has dared to say that "back to the defense of the family normally consists was a great help to our society." Commentary Friesh Dagblad: "People are willing to accept anything, as the presence of a minister to gay pride. And when a minister is saying things make sense, everyone is serious and wants it banned! "(Youth for Life, July-August 2009).

Against abortion in Cameroon: Cardinal Tumi (Archbishop of Douala) and 20,000 people marched against the abortion and homosexuality, the call of the Catholic Church. A petition of 30,000 signatures was handed to the President of the Republic.

against abortion in Spain. In March, between 100,000 and 500,000 people marched in Madrid to "the right to life" and against the proposed partially liberalize abortion: a first major mobilization supported by the Catholic Church, which claims that animals being disappearance, as the lynx, are better protected than human embryos ... (La Libre, 30.03.2009).
adolescents of 16 years may abort without parental consent. We will consider abortion as a right. And doctors could no longer invoke conscientious objection. The Popular Party has announced that if the law was passed, he denounces the Constitutional Court. It evokes for the first time the possibility of revising the 1985 law. Another walk a million demonstrators took place in Madrid on October 17 (the Belgians were). The episcopate is the spearhead of this battle: Cardinal Varela has promised that this crusade "will intensify until the withdrawal of the bill" (after Le Figaro, 24-10-09).

The surprising conversion of the director of a U.S. abortion mill
Abby Johnson worked for eight years in the Planned Parenthood abortion mill Bryan (Texas), she became director in 2007. However, before an abortion mill that David Bereit, national director of 40 Days for Life, launched in 2004 as the first and only security guard that year: the most powerful campaign to life in the world. "From the first campaign in 2004, we prayed for Abby, and all other abortion workers, come to see what abortion really drop and the industry of death". Five years later, Abby has left the management of this abortion mill in the fourteenth day of the sixth vigil 40 Days for Life. His real catch: he could see the ultrasound image of a genuine abortion: a fetus curled up, sucked from the womb of the mother. It was "a spiritual conversion." This is the eighth person working in abortion mill to have resigned during the campaign of 40 Days for Life. Another abortion mill also shut its doors. The campaign takes place in 212 cities in 25 states, 5 Canadian provinces and Denmark.

40 Days for Life: D + 32, more than 542 babies (already) saved: a cautionary tale! On the evening of the 32nd day of the autumn campaign of 40 Days for Life, more than 400 babies had been saved from death. Here's a cautionary tale. A vigil was held just outside the Planned Parenthood abortion mill in 24 hours 24. A car stops a few meters from the group praying, the driver of the car is a sign to approach: a member of the group realizes that she is crying bitterly. She said that at the age of 27, she underwent an abortion in the same abortion mill, and she bitterly regrets. Had there been someone, anyone, being pray at the abortion mill on the day she went, she would certainly have renounced abortion. Similarly, a woman who had an abortion 26 years here and never got delivered to the point of considering suicide: now it is a pro-life.

Vitality of faith

Strengthening of Catholicism in the United States. Rene Girard, French philosopher living there, answered in an interview: "I see American Catholicism as ever grow stronger in the U.S. ... The dominant vision of Catholicism in America is that it has become, by far, the first American church over the past half-century (...). There is no collapse of the image of Pope ... His visit in spring 2008 was a success (...). I am surprised by the hostility that you mentioned. I have not seen signs of it "(Le Figaro, 22-10).

Return of bap-tems adults. In France, the Church has welcomed nearly 3,000 catechumens during the Easter vigil. Their num-ber is on the rise. In Belgium, the adults were baptized 140 at the Easter Vigil in 2009 (109 last year), especially women and youth (20-35 years) applications are more important in the south. For cons, the number of requests for baptism of infants is narrowing. Baptisms of adults are more frequent in areas that have already undergone head-secularization. Preparation (discernment and tracking) lasts two years. According to La Libre, 13.04.2009, these catechumens Belgian 20 to 35 years, from diverse backgrounds, of Belgian origin, but also foreign, seeking baptism, confirmation and the sacrament of the Eucharist . Among them, there are repeating (read: people who had been baptized, but had cut ties with the Church), in addition, many people who had no contact with religion.

Acolyte, a service provided a good heart. In Arlon, 50 youth participated in the day acolytes. For Arlon, they are 38: smaller start at 6 years, but it is not uncommon to see Alexi don the dress. A young 21, who finished his "career" 2 years ago, said: "Yes, it's a way of saying his Christian faith. For the young also means being on a mission. To be also recognized. (...). This opens spiritual doors "(from L'Avenir du Luxembourg, 28/09/09). - It's "The boom cohorts", title Family Christian (6-6-09) in recent years is a revival that became a place of education, brotherhood and awakening to the priestly vocation. Blessed death at age 28. Alberto Marvelli in Rimini in 1943, saved from deportation for many prisoners to concentration camps. "Jesus has shrouded his grace, I only see him, I think only him ... My program is summed up in one word: holiness "(in his diary). Influenced by Don Bosco, he is a founder of Catholic Action Workers Italian. At 27, this young engineer in 1945 involved the reconstruction of the city and the homeless. While Marxists are propagating in the factories, he expects the workers to exit and tell them about Jesus Christ. A sports enthusiast, October 5, 1946, he went biking at a meeting of electors: run over by a truck, he died soon after at the age of 28 years.

Saint Damien De Veuster, pride of the Belgians. He was canonized in Rome on October 11. It can be viewed as the saint of hopeless causes and one of the first great architects of ecumenism. "I feel the happiest missionary the world, "he said. In October 1885 he wrote to his Superior: "Well, Reverend, there's no doubt in my mind: I am a leper. May God be praised! Do not pity me too much. Encyclical "Caritas in Veritate. According to the French Minister of Labour, she arrived "at the right time, as lightning tearing the dark clouds" in "a disoriented world, unequal and traumatized by the spasms of a global crisis" (from Family Christian , 15/08/09). Several representatives of the Evangelical Church also expressed their agreement on the teaching of the Pope in his encyclical (from The New Man, 12/09/09).

A first in Belgium! : At the University of Liege in front of more than 500 people, 19 October, Prime Minister Van Rompuy, a practicing Catholic and believe, spoke of "the social teaching of Benedict XVI," just as Rocco Buttiglione, Speaker of the House Deputies of Italy! Bishop Michel Schooyans had previously proposed a masterful synthesis of the encyclical. To a question on abortion, deadpan laugh, the Prime Minister responded that "the mores can also change laws "!....

God is found in the brain. Our brain is "programmed" to feel religious experiences. Several areas would form and the biological foundations of religious belief. The brain has evolved to become sensitive to all forms of belief that can improve the chances of survival. That explains why belief in God and the supernatural is so prevalent in history (Towards the Future 16-03-09).

If you believe Richard Wurmbrand (If I was 3 minutes Apostolate Editions, Paris 1981), Darwin is the only one not taken from his writings Conclusions atheists. At the end of his life, he studied the Bible carefully and said: "I was young, with vague ideas. I asked questions, made suggestions (...). Then to my surprise, my ideas took like a fire lit. People have made a religion. " Only matter what we think of our death bed ...

is the story of the sole survivor of a shipwreck, stranded on a Pacific island. He had succeeded, after a while, to build a kind of hut where he put the little he had been saved from disaster. Every day he prayed God to deliver and anxiously watched the horizon to signal to any vessel which eventually could move around. Returning one day with his food, he was horrified at the sight of his hut in flames. Worse, it seemed, had happened: everything which enabled him to survive went up in smoke! But what, at first, seemed a great tragedy and, in the limited mind of man, proved disastrous was in fact a unique opportunity for him.

In the infinite wisdom of God, this apparent loss was the answer to his fervent prayer. The same day, in fact, came a boat: "We saw your smoke signal, I come to save you," said the captain ... . At a time when everything seems to crumble, why not take what we think of disasters in a positive direction and discover what God has made us better? Let us remember always the assertion of St. Paul: "To those who love God works in all things for good. "(Rom 8, 28).

Jesus was on his way to save in extremis, the daughter of Jairus (picture above). The servants of the latter came to tell him it was too late, that he should no longer disturb the master. But Jesus said to Jairus: "Do not be afraid, just believe! Then it humanly nothing left to do, that any calls to discouragement, the time of supernatural hope has arrived. No, Jesus never comes too late. Prior to resurrect this 12 year old girl, he asks only for a deeper faith, a unlimited confidence in him, who can do anything, anytime. It would also require full trust to the two sisters of Lazarus, before leaving it to his grave. Often, it seems that Jesus did not come to meet our needs, but then he gives us a much greater thanks!

Response from a reader of Brabant Wallon Movement "Wallonia-Church" in connection with an article for Sunday 25-10-09:
1) If you "dimension of the Roman Church is increasingly an obstacle for many, would you more or less of Churches autocephalous, freed a Roman Church, which language would you think "complicated and sanitized? It would reject the universal vocation of our Church.
2) "The scale disproportionately linked to life sexual ecclesiastical documents? But the responsibility lies with the Western media. Our society is obsessed with sex.
3) The Church "obscures the richness of the Christian message" and "veil bold pronouncements on social and economic? And to think that Benedict XVI, in his Caritas in Veritate, offers a perspective full blast a stunning panorama of the bubbling of the global economy! Would it be that the Western Europeans to miss the treasures offered by their Church, always eager to catch her out, whatever they do or not do? That is exactly what the Church wants. A faithful to play!

According to the Secretary General of the CSC (Confederation of Christian Trade Unions) "(...) the Vatican is positioned as an ultra-conservative force, at odds with the experiences of Christians as non-Christians. It is a far cry from the reality of people's lives, miles away from their problems and suffering. " (According to La Libre, 31/03/09)

Objections against Bishops in Europe
In Avignon, eight priests deans have resigned on February 3 the parish council of Bishop Cattenoz, protesting against their authoritarian Archbishop who wanted to appeal to communities and priests in Latin America, to Africa and Eastern Europe to counter the lack of local vocations. It is simply the resignation of the Archbishop who is desired by some clergy and laity: they fear that the arrival of new priests for an end to privileges they were granted. In the diocese of Lucon, Archbishop Castet also known a wind of controversy: priests and faithful clericalized blame him .... Vatican to respect the letter! Situation even more explosive in Bayeux, Saint-Brieuc or Poitiers, company when it shall be appointed bishops who want to redress the situation by following the way traced out by Sovereign Pontiff.

In Austria, liberal Catholics have called to remove what appeared to be restrictive and frustrating the priesthood for men, obedience to the Apostolic See, liturgical rites, morals, etc.. Basically, they are happy to see the fall of priestly vocations: the scarcity of priests allows them to be even more active in parishes and preparing minds for the emergence of a "new church".

"Decline of the Catholic Church: it is five! "Shameful article by a Jesuit Cairo, presented without comment (!) By Sunday of 30-8-09 as" a connoisseur of the Catholic Church. "As luck on the eve of the canonization of Father Damien, RTBF (Belgian public television) has reaffirmed his anti-Catholic bias primary and has aired a poor report attempting to undermine the miracles attributed to this fine example of what the Belgian missionary this holy priest dedicated to the salvation of lepers. And laïcards to be scandalized because the king made a genuflection before the Pope at the canonization of Damien! Incredible! A nun from Chicago "companion" of women who go for abortion. Sister Donna Quinn, a Dominican nun (Wisconsin), was recognized many times to accompany women from abortion, to convince them they do nothing wrong ... She never misses an opportunity to insult the pro-life activists, especially when they are men: "No, but Look at me these men who claim to tell women what to do with their bodies! Prophetic Reflections on Catholicism (in 1968!):
"Everyone does not believe, no longer practicing what he sings. But the last vicar or the last chaplain of Catholic Action, as the most ignorant journalists, all with a slice of certainty and infallible judge intolerable that other priests and faithful can not think like him. When one has lost any sense of authority, we see a kind of rebirth neo-clericalism of the laity Moreover, as clerics, more limited, more intolerant, more meddlesome than anything we had ever seen.

"The word today is to lay people, it seems, but on this point as on all others, provided of course they stick to repeating what they said meekly. If they protest and want, for example, keep at least the Latin hymns of the Ordinary of the Mass, with which they are familiar, they reply that their protest is worthless (....). This is all the more curious they want exactly what the Council had recommended. It emphasized once

that traditional churches and the Catholic Church primarily, their liturgy objective, safeguarding the spiritual liberty of the faithful against the intrusive and oppressive subjectivity easily clerics. But that, it remains nothing. The contemporary Catholics have no right to have the religion of their parish priest, with all its idiosyncrasies, its limitations, his mannerisms and his trivia.

VII. RIGHT OF REPLY about "Mohamed Sabaou"
(No. 74, "Truth and Hope 3000 "pp. 8-9).

We, in good faith, published an article entitled "Islamic Threat to Europe ', repeating remarks attributed to Mahomed Sabaou and received via the Internet. It appears that these are excerpts from an interview with someone who presents himself as a young sociologist Muslim of Algerian origin, naturalized French, and reproduced in a book by Philippe Aziz, The paradox of Roubaix, Plon, 1996. This text would be inserted regularly in "All boxes" of the North and was taken up in a prayer bulletin of June 2008, the Sentinel of prayer. This would be about transcribed by reporters while exaggerating to emphasize the danger of radical Islamism. Without prejudging the merits of the case, we ask our readers and the University of Lille excuse us, and we give the benefit of good faith. In fact the person concerned is no teacher at the Catholic University of Lille, which has denounced the thing and asked us to publish the right answer here:

The Catholic University of Lille confirms that since 1996, when the first release of this information, this "alleged" person was never part of the staff of the University, whether as a student, teacher or member staff. The University strongly condemns the theories developed in these messages and articles.

"Oh! that the priest is something great! If he realized, he would die ... God obeys him: he said two words and the Lord descended from heaven at his voice to be contained within a small host ... "And to explain to his followers the importance of the sacraments, he said:" If we don ' had not the Sacrament of Orders, we would not our Lord. Who was it who put it there in the tabernacle? The priest. Who is it that our soul has received its entry into the world? The priest. Who feeds your soul and give strength to his pilgrimage? The priest. Who will prepare to appear before God, by washing that soul for the last time in the blood of Jesus Christ? The priest, always the priest. And if the soul dies [because of sin], who will raise, who will restore calm and peace? Again, the priest ... After God, the priest is everything ... the priest does he fully realize that in the sky. I. Editorial: "love in truth"

This is the title of the third encyclical that Pope Benedict XVI address to the society and the world today, Christians and non Christians. It first recalls the social encyclicals of Paul VI and John Paul II. He speaks of respect for the human person, its growth in freedom and world hunger. He reminded the government the importance of new economic and social foundations.

In market relations, it is also the principle of free and logic of the gift as an expression of brotherhood. We must work not only to create areas or ethical lines in the economy and finance, but for the whole economy and finance is ethical. The crisis forces us to reconsider our journey, to give us new rules and to discover new forms of engagement. The comprehensive development of man as a vocation that demands respect for its truth. The
problem of food insecurity must be tackled in the long term. Unemployment leads to new aspects of today's economic nonsense. The sidelining of work for a long period, as prolonged dependency vis-à-vis the public or private assistance are undermining the freedom and creativity of the person and his social behavior and family, with strong suffering from a psychological and spiritual. The use of the natural environment represents for us a responsibility to the poor, future generations and humanity as whole. Development cooperation should not only consider the economic dimension. It must be a great opportunity to meet cultural and human.

II. The ENCYCLICAL ON DEVELOPMENT "Caritas in Veritate"

THE PAPAL POPE BENEDICT XVI on integral human development in charity and in truth (extracts).

Editor's note: A revolutionary response ...

Given the global economic crisis, the Church, which never despairs of man, put in the balance all the advantage gained of her social doctrine since Leo XIII: "If the world had listened more attentively Leo XIII and his successors, we could avoid the Bolshevik Revolution, the 1929 crisis, and why not one today! ... "(JY Naudet) for whom" communism has lost one hundred years to the social question. " Pope, aided by economists and experts in ethics and finance, has worked since 2007, stimulated by the crisis 2008.Ce document has received a warm welcome: The Italian head of state, President Giorgio Napolitano former representative of the Italian Communist Party, claims to have read the encyclical "with great interest . Cardinal Vingt-Trois spoke of "a great message of hope." It is a breathtaking panorama and full breath to make sense of the ferment of the global economy. The French Minister of Labour considers it came "at the right time, as lightning tearing the dark clouds."

Primate of truth

2. Charity is at the heart of the Social Doctrine of the Church (...). Hence, arises the need to combine love with the truth not only in the direction indicated by St. Paul, of "truth in caritate" (Eph 4, 15) but also, in that, opposite and complementary to the "Caritas in veritate" (...)
8. By publishing in 1967 the encyclical Populorum Progressio , my venerable predecessor Paul VI illuminated the great theme of development of the peoples of the splendor of truth and the soft light of Christ's love. He said that the announcement of Christ is the first and main factor of development (...). The Church has no technical solutions to offer and is not intended "not to interfere in state politics." However, it has a mission of truth to accomplish at all times and under all circumstances, for a company to measure the man, his dignity and his vocation (...).
Role prophetic Popes Paul VI and
16. (...) If the [development] only concerned the technical aspects of the life of man, not the direction of his march into history with his other brothers or definition of the purpose of such path, the Church would have no way to tell. (...). As Leo XIII in Rerum Novarum, Pope Paul VI was conscious of a duty to fulfill its own burden.
18. (...) The Gospel is a fundamental element of development, because in Christ, "the revelation the mystery of the Father and His love, fully reveals man to himself. " The Church offers the world "it has its own: a global vision of man and humanity" (...).
The market for poor people in globalization: a drama!
21. (...) However, we must recognize that this same economic development has been and continues to be burdened by imbalances and dramatic problems, made even more highlighted by the current crisis (...) . The technical forces, global exchanges, deleterious effects on the real economy to a financial activity and misused, which is more speculative, large-scale migration, usually provoked and then handled inappropriately, the unregulated exploitation of land resources, leading us TODAY 'hui to reflect upon the measures necessary (...).
25. (...) The global market has stimulated above all, from rich countries, looking for places to outsource production to low cost in order to reduce the prices of many goods, from increase the purchasing power and thus accelerate the rate of growth based on increased consumption of the domestic market (...). I would like to remind everyone, especially governments pledged to give a new profile to economic and social foundations of the world, that man, the person in its integrity, is the first capital to safeguard and promote (...) .
27. (...) In many poor countries, extreme insecurity vital, which is the result of nutritional deficiencies, remains and is likely to worsen: hunger mowing again as so many victims of Lazarus whom he does is not allowed to sit as Paul VI wished , the rich man's table. Feeding the hungry (cf. Mt 25, 35, 37, 42) is an ethical imperative for the Church Universal (...). Eliminate hunger in the world has become, moreover, in the era of globalization, a requirement to continue to safeguard peace and stability in the world (...).
Respect for life and religious freedom
28. One of the most striking aspects of contemporary development is the important theme of respect for life (...). Not only does poverty cause yet in many areas a high rate of mortality infant, but some parts of the world still practice population control by governmental bodies that often promote contraception and abortion are going to impose. In the economically more developed, contrary to the laws of life are now widespread and have influenced the customs and practices, helping to disseminate anti-birth mentality that we often try to convey to other states like it is a cultural progress. Some NGOs are actively working to spread of abortion, and sometimes promote in poor countries adopting the practice of sterilization, including women's knowledge (...).
29. (...) There is still denial of the right to religious freedom (...). It often kills in the holy name of God. Violence hampering the real development and impede the march of peoples towards greater well-being socio-economic and spiritual (...). It should be added that, in addition to religious fanaticism, which in some circles, prevents the right to religious freedom, the deliberate promotion of religious indifference or practical atheism from many countries obstructs the development needs of the people, depriving them of access to spiritual and human resources. God is the guarantor of true human development (...).
The spirit of giving: a revolutionary view on globalization
35. (...). The poor are not regarded as a "burden" but rather as a resource, even from a strictly economic point of view. Must be regarded as erroneous to some who think that the market economy has a structural need for a quota of poverty and underdevelopment in order to work best (...).
39. (...) When the logic of the market and that of the State come together to perpetuate the monopoly of their respective areas of influence in the relations of solidarity between citizens is diminishing over time (.. .). A demographic
open to life: how rich!
43. (...) "Solidarity is a universal fact, and a benefit for us, is also a duty" (...). It has often been noted between claiming a right to excess or even transgression and vice, in affluent societies, and lack of food, drinking water, primary education or basic health care in some underdeveloped regions and in the peripheries of large cities (...). The exasperation of rights leads to a neglect of duty (...).
44. (...) Consider population growth as the primary cause of underdevelopment is incorrect, even from an economic standpoint: just think of a hand, the significant decrease in infant mortality and the rise in average life expectancy found in economically developed countries, and on the other hand, the signs of crisis observable in societies where there has been an alarming decline in the birthrate (...). The Church, which has at heart the true development of man, he recommends following his action in any authentic human reality. This dimension must be recognized, especially in regard to sexuality: it can not be reduced to a pure fact hedonistic and playful, as well as sex education can not be reduced to technical instruction, the sole purpose defend the interest of any contamination or "Risk" reproductive (...). In effect, prohibits both the responsibility to consider sexuality as a mere source of pleasure, than to regulate it through planning policies mandatory birth (...).

Opening morally responsible life in a rich social and economic development. Great nations have come out of poverty thanks to the large number of their inhabitants and their potential. By contrast, nations, a prosperous time, now a familiar phase of uncertainty and, in some cases, decline because of falling birth rates which is a critical issue for companies of advanced welfare (...). In this context, States are required to implement policies that promote the centrality and integrity of the family based on marriage between a man and a woman, first and vital cell of society (...) .

The ecology of man and the problems

48. The theme of development is also now strongly linked to the duties arising from the report of man with the natural environment. It was given to all by God and his use of it we have a responsibility towards the poor, future generations and humanity as a whole (...).
49. (...) They [poor people] do not have the economic resources to access existing non renewable energy sources or to finance research into new sources imprisonment. The hoarding of natural resources which, in many cases, are precisely in poor countries, gives rise to exploitation and frequent conflicts between nations or inside of them (...).
50. (...). There's room for everyone on earth: the entire human family must find the resources needed to live successfully with nature itself, God's gift to his children and his work effort and creativity (...).
51. (...). The Church has a responsibility to create and must assert this publicly too. In doing so, it must preserve not only the land, water and air as gifts of creation belongs to all, it must above all protect the rights of its own destruction. A kind of human ecology, correctly understood, is necessary (...). If the right to life and natural death is not observed if the conception, gestation and birth of man is man made, if human embryos are sacrificed for research, awareness of society ends up losing the concept of human ecology, and with it, that of environmental ecology (...).

The essential contribution of religions

56 .(...) The social doctrine of the Church is born to claim that "citizenship" of religion Christian. The denial of the right to publicly profess his religion and to work towards the truths of faith also inspire public life has negative consequences on the real development (...).
61. (...). An example of the importance of this problem is offered by the phenomenon of international tourism can be a major factor of economic development and cultural growth, but can also be transformed into opportunity. Financiers must rediscover the true ethical basis of their activity so as not to abuse these sophisticated instruments that can be used to mislead investors (...).

disturbing problems of bioethics

74. A critical area today (...) is the field of bioethics, which is played dramatically the very possibility of an integral human development. This is a particularly delicate and decisive, which emerges with dramatic force the fundamental question of whether the man was the product itself or if it depends on God (...). It is no coincidence that the closure to transcendence faces difficulty to understand how the void could well be, and how chance is born of intelligence. Faced with these dramatic problems, reason and faith mutually help each other (...).
75. (...). In vitro fertilization, embryo research, the possibility of cloning human hybrids appear and are promoted in the contemporary culture of disenchantment, which believes it every mystery, because we are now able to root life (...). One can not underestimate the alarming scenarios for the future of man or the powerful new tools available to the "culture death. As tragic and deep wound of abortion, could be added in the future, and it is already in nuce surreptitiously (the seeds), a systematic eugenic births. On the other hand, we see a mens euthanasica (mentality in favor of euthanasia) to clear a path, an event just as abuse of a desire to dominate life, which, under certain conditions, is no longer considered worth living (...). What is astonishing is the ability to arbitrarily select which, today, is proposed as worthy of respect (...).
76. (...). Far from God, man is restless and fragile. The psychological and social alienation, with all the neuroses that characterize affluent societies, is also due to spiritual causes. (...). New forms of slavery to drugs and despair in which many people fall an explanation not only sociological and psychological, but mainly spiritual. (...). There is no holistic development and the universal common good without spiritual and moral development of individuals, considered in the integrity of their souls and their bodies (...).
78. Without God, man does not know where to go and can not even understand who he is. Given the enormous problems of developing nations who would push us almost to despair and defeatism, the word of the Lord Jesus Christ comes to our aid making us aware of the fact that: "Without me ye can do nothing" (Jn 15 , 5) (...). The greatest force at the service of development, so it is a Christian humanism (...). Humanism excludes God is an inhuman humanism (...).
79. Development needs Christians who have their hands outstretched to God in a gesture of prayer, knowing that the rich love of truth, Caritas in Veritate, which carries the authentic development, is not produced by us, but we are given (...). Christians long for the entire human family to call God "Our Father! "(...).

This brings me great joy "reflects Benedict, 29-year seminarian, who discovered the exercise daily.

"People here are not warm. If we can well testify, we realize that it can bear much fruit. " In Grenoble, the "Red City", the cradle of the Revolution, a stronghold of intellectual free-thinkers, was a bold bet. The new festival, which will have a national character rather than religious, borders that of the Annunciation, without replacing it. It will make the figure of the Virgin Mary, a bond of unity among the Lebanese of all confessions. The decision was taken unanimously at the Council of Ministers of March 13, 2009. o The election of the Patriarch Kyrill in Moscow: new impetus for ecumenism. The election of new Patriarch of Moscow opens new prospects for dialogue between Catholics and Orthodox. Since his election, Pope Benedict XVI has expressed on several occasions, the desire to further strengthen the dialogue with Orthodox. Metropolitan Kyrill, who was elected Patriarch of Moscow has been in recent times, a privileged interlocutor with the Holy See. His election was greeted with enthusiasm by the pope and the international press.
The first speech of the new patriarch, to an audience well fed in the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour has shown his desire to move towards unity, without denying the differences in doctrine with the Catholic Church, he indicated the need a unit to deal with secularization. o The challenges of Benedict XVI. The many media attacks against the pope does not seem to disrupt or stop the program of his pontificate. The "peaceful struggle" Benedict XVI continued, explaining the foundations of the Catholic faith ("Resurrection is not a theory but a historical reality ... it is neither a myth nor a dream, it is or a vision or a dream, not a fable, but a unique and definitive ") and he fights materialism and nihilism that have weakened the West, making him lose his identity markers. o Open letter to the pope a 16 year old
Holy Father, I'm Charles, I am a student of 16 years. I watch with dismay the media lynching to which you object. I wanted, Holy Father, thank you for your courage. Thank you for telling us again that we are often free and responsible beings: some would be so happy by giving us bread, games, pills and condoms, to make us a people debased and sensual, slave to his instincts and devoid the will to rise. Easy to dominate a people, living in a hollow world, bland and sanitized ...
Thanks for telling me that if the purity is a difficult virtue to practice, it is still possible to live, and it helps us discover what true love. A journalist stated, a few days ago, that chastity is a virtue not to practice, and must therefore renounce the show as a role model. When will the turn of honesty, courtesy, service spirit, sincerity, obedience?
In my school we are taught to use a condom and then we are told that everything is allowed, except for rape. We are not girl talk more, but "partner". Love is more than a set of techniques and processes. It is not a gift, but the appropriation of another. I continue to believe that the greatest gift I can do to the woman who will share my life is the fact that I reserved for her. I know, however, we will laugh at me, they treat me every name, we will say that I am abnormal and frustrated ... Receive, Most Holy Father, the expression of my filial affection. Charles

o testimony at the hospital
As a volunteer weekly in hospital to offer Sunday Mass and bring Communion, I had a very good meeting recently. A woman started talking to me the first time I saw her, saying: "You're a Catholic, I just asked for euthanasia, what do you think? You condemn me is not it? I am a believer but I can not go, I suffer too! . Ask for euthanasia, it is always a cry for help! I told this woman that obviously I do not condemn it. She had been hospitalized 63 times in 20 years: she was completely alone, no family! She thought she had no longer any reason to live and she suffered so much! I would have then given a mission: to pray. On my second visit, she no longer spoke of euthanasia ... She could even go home. I fought for it to go into palliative care, because she no longer wanted to go to the hospital, she wanted the love, attention. I insisted and obtained successful. She was very happy, very peaceful. She felt that he loved her. And after five days, she died, serene, happy, at peace with itself and others. God came for her when she was really ready to go. His funeral was very moving, we were five. The few people around him who had visited palliative care told me they had never seen so happy for the years they knew .... Pierre Delaunay

Friday June 19 to Sunday, June 21 A Festival of Satanic anti-Christian hatred with encouragement physical violence took place in Clisson (France): the tract its name proudly: "Hellefest" (Feast of Hell)! With the support of the Council of Pays de Loire Atlantique, Kronembourg and Cola-Cola.

o Pakistan: Barbarism strikes again

August 2, 2009. Eight Christians including four women and a child burned to death by followers of the "religion of love" and four churches burned and destroyed 50 houses in a village in western Pakistan (source: Asia News) for allegedly desecrated a Koran. But the Minister of Minorities Shahbaz Bhatti said that these accusations were "baseless." Because there was desecration or not, he would never dream of followers of a religion of love, peace and tolerance of women and children burned alive for such a trifle? Note that the is not a trifle under Pakistani law which condemns to death anyone who desecrates the Korampf Mein. Still more peace, love and tolerance ™, highly Islamic values if any .... Desecrating the Koran is punishable by death in Pakistan, where Islam is the dominant religion. Christians, who represent less than 3% of the population, say the anti-blasphemy laws are used to retaliate on their community.

o Persecution of Christians in Muslim countries

No country is immune to this, nor even the most "liberal" like Tunisia where Muslim women have nevertheless prohibited from marrying non-Muslim. In Saudi Arabia, there is a religious police, the Muttawa, who watches over the correct behavior (according to Islamic law) of the population, and between strength in the homes of Filipino and Indian immigrants, gathered to pray the rosary or read the bible, an activity considered the territory "sanctity of Islam" as a very serious offense, punishable by imprisonment, confiscation of property and immediate repatriation. In France, the number of frozen embryos was estimated at 176,523 in 2007. We know that medically assisted reproduction and IVF produce many embryos that are frozen at -196 ° C. - Of the 119,000 attempts made by AMP 2006, 14 300 were frozen embryo transfers (FET). 13 802 TEC were intraconjugal and gave birth to 1988 children 262 were derived from donated sperm and resulted in the birth of 40 children, 189 were the result of egg donation and 27 children were born alive. Finally, 57 TEC has been made in the context of a host embryo, giving birth to 10 children. What is less known is the suffering of parents at the prospect of delivering these children to destruction. This practice is clearly condemned by the Church, especially in investigating Dignitas Personae.

He quietly rowing against the current, always takes off against the wind (as kites) and is constantly feet from nose the spirit world.

In addition to being an intellectual high-flying (so read his "Metaphysics of Being"), there is in him a Don Camillo Walloon guindailleur a student and something of a guillotine and expels priest (1793 , 1905). I can see the latest bless Carmelites of Compiegne before slipping his neck, smiling under the leveling blade.

If its Catholicism is strict, it is not fussy: his Roman shield the flawless flawless Roman willingly willingly dons the "bia bouquet, its lucidity and its devastating wind is ruthless humor. His entourage may suffer from its blunders, his ego, his otherness ... But I'm sure he does not express any more than the elephant is not always aware of the damage it does by simply shaking the leg. So, Bishop Leonard, cardinal and archbishop? I'm for. Of course, that we change many of its predecessor (if you know what I mean), but we will have fun a lot and perhaps convince us that he was made for this.
Pierre-Rene Melo (La Libre Belgique, 22-6-09)

Editor's note: Since he was bishop of Namur in 1991, Bishop Leonard has ordered 90 young priests and hosted about 10 young new pastoral communities.

The Church and AIDS
No one would dare to minimize the seriousness of the AIDS epidemic or to criticize the efforts of medicine to stop it, but it is surprising to global advocacy in favor of condoms (see Vers l'Avenir, 19 March). One frieze by grotesque outside the condom, no salvation for man! Will it be made mandatory (as the belt ...) and send controllers alcoves? It would in any case, the pope makes frankly promotion. You already imagine the headlines of Paris Match: Benedict XVI finally converted to the hood! In reality, journalists who interview him know in advance the answer, not imagining that it could break with the traditional teaching of the Church, but they are seeking a new pretext for the pin, hold it responsible of the epidemic. A shame, because precisely, if the world had listened to the Church, there would be no epidemic: it does not prevent long ago? Whence, indeed, the disease unknown to our ancestors? While its origin remains obscure, there is no doubt that its spread lightning struck first in homosexuals and drug addicts, then in Many variants of debauched, that is to say, those who break the moral of the Church. Unfortunately it also reaches straight now. Furthermore, condoms encourages such behavior disastrous, with the pill, condemned by Pope Paul VI, he pushes the sexual promiscuity and thus the multiple partners and therefore risk. That
therefore ceases to attack the Church! In a society where Eros is king, it is easily shines on only one aspect of Christian morality. A reader of Namur (not published by Towards the Future)

"The woman-object" in La Libre Belgique
As a woman, I am humbled by this great picture of "woman-object" ("L'art au féminin, 3-8, p. 42). Your newspaper objectifies women and trivializes the taste for pornography. I. Editorial: Benedict XVI's pastoral visit to Africa

From 17 to 23 March 2009, Pope Benedict XVI made his first pastoral visit to black Africa, Cameroon and Angola. He was enthusiastically welcomed in a special, one million faithful in the Eucharistic celebration on Sunday in Luanda, capital of Angola. He met the French Episcopal Conference of Black Africa from the west, representing the various Episcopal Conferences of Africa.

After the visit of Benedict XVI, the Conference issued a pastoral letter detailing the broad guidelines for the Synod African bishops to be held in Rome in September to October. This letter expresses his amazement at first attended by the outrageous manipulation of the media planned neo-colonialists of the West. She does not hesitate to demolish that Christian morality is a crime against humanity and that the sacrilegious and offensive statements of these media is a postmodern attack against the truth, with catastrophic consequences for human relationships.

The bishops show their profound unity of heart and mind with Benedict XVI. According to them, the Church in Africa is hopeful because of the humanization of sexuality and friendship against AIDS. Directed Europeans their letter said that Africans are capable of thinking themselves to their problems. They also denounce and deplore the crimes of the slave era in which their siblings were treated as a "commodity". These bishops are aware of speak for all Africans.

In the homily that followed his election (which was unprecedented speed), Benedict XVI has placed a surprising sentence: "Pray for me, I do not take the flight for fear of wolves ": an image that is relevant. In L'Osservatore Romano Vatican newspaper distributed in over 180 countries, the Secretariat of State published its response on April 18 to 95 members of the House of Representatives of Belgium, who voted to censure the pope. She finds that blame is based on a text intended to intimidate and falsified the Holy Father and to deter him from talking about certain issues concerning morality, "forgery and using false" to intimidate a head of state. In international law, such a method is a serious offense. The Italian press has condemned the process and the judge incompatible with democracy. The Belgian Parliament has really discredited and discredited Belgium: it's a real slap to the citizens of our country. Some rumors point to a political maneuver when the Parliamentary Committee, placed before the "scandal Fortis, chose not to file its findings ...

"Christ did not appear to rally the majority opinions," said Cardinal Vingt-Trois, or comply with the correct thinking of his time. He came to reveal a higher ambition: to call sinners to conversion and holiness. "
For Monsignor Rey de Toulon, "The Audacity of Benedict XVI in this excites me! It's a fact the Church is the only moral authority who dares to speak again. The crisis is part of life and what it is to follow Christ. "
Finally, Bishop Dufour, "The devil wakes up because the Church of France is in revival. In a lukewarm church, this does not happen "(Family Christian, 11-4-09).

III. A big lie media: The press and the Pope's trip to Africa

Does this happen to bring Pope Benedict XVI before the International Criminal Court as a potential murderer?? Remember the following reactions to the Danish cartoons on Mahommed! Obviously we will still charge us to develop here the hurly-burly of this ethical problem ... We have to try the synthesis of a case that has consumed much ink in the newspapers ...

Western press of our western countries condemned the About the Pope about the condom. Here are some ... selected excerpts:

- "Benedict XVI confirms veto the condom" (Le Soir, 18-3-09).
- "The Church is a backward, obscurantist and criminal" (La Libre Belgique, 19-3-09).
- "The pope encourages crime against humanity" (The Last Time, 30-3-09).
- "The Pope, spreading his irresponsible remarks, clearly involved in genocide. And as such, it therefore deserves ample name assassin "(a reader of Vers l'Avenir).
- "(...) works with this pope dogmas and blinkers. It works by sexton of the Church "(Vers l'Avenir 26-3-09).
- La Libre (19-3-09) seriously questioned "as to whether Benedict XVI is still in place on the throne of Peter ...."

reverse reactions have not failed rocket. This anthology will surely enlighten you abundant ...

Africa:

- For the African Federation of Family Action, "It's easy dispensing, even aggressive, abusive, uncontrolled, indiscriminate condom which disempowers and fosters young sexually wanton. "
- Now the words of Blaise Compaore (President Burkina Faso and Chairman of the National Committee to Fight against AIDS):
"The Church has no monopoly of abstinence! As head of state, I made commitments in this direction since 2002 as part of the campaign 'It's my life'. Among the commitments proposed, some were directly call for abstinence. Many people are unaware of the work of the Church in Africa. With us, the Church is a synonymous with schools and clinics. The debate on AIDS is not theoretical, it is practical. If abstinence is a means of prevention, we're not going to deny! "
- Sarrr And Bishop, Archbishop of Dakar, we run:" I ask the West not to impose on us their one and only way of seeing. In countries like ours, abstinence and fidelity are values that are still lived. With their promotion, we contribute to the prevention against AIDS. "
- For Monsignor Slatter, Bishop in South Africa, "the conclusion is obvious: more condoms mean more cases of AIDS and death ... It is of course politically incorrect to consider the possibility that condoms can actually feed this deadly disease instead of the brake. Uganda was the first country to actively combat the AIDS epidemic in the early 90s. The strong and clear position of President Museveni has slowed the spread of AIDS, increasing the rate of people affected over 25% to 6% in 2002. He preached the good sense and not condoms, encouraging abstinence before marriage and fidelity within marriage as the cultural values "(Christian Family).
- "As a Cameroonian living in Belgium, I am very surprised at the controversy surrounding the words of Benedict XVI on AIDS in Africa. In my country, the Pope's visit does not raise enthused. I wonder on what grounds some Europeans wish to impose their model of sexuality to Africans, in a kind of ideological colonialism "(an inhabitant of Woluwe-Saint-Pierre in La Libre, 24-3-09).
- "Not a word about the synod of African bishops to come, nor on the document prepared in this regard by the Pope .... (Western media) have infested the airwaves with a controversy they have created from scratch. For, out of context the statement of the pope on condoms, they have distorted the substance "(Cameroon Tribune).
- The condom is 97% effective against infection, in the best conditions of use and 87% in conditions such as are found in Africa (where they are often reused ...). In Uganda, the government has launched campaigns ABC (A for abstinence, B for loyalty "Be faithful" and C as condoms). The frequency of infection had fallen from 15% in 1991 to 5% in 2001. In addition, a number of young people delay their first sexual intercourse 15 to 19 years. Of course, the condom remains a last resort for those who can not apply the A or B of the method. "(La Libre 27-3-09.
is the time to recall the words of Cardinal Ratzinger in 1988: "The Church can be very precisely as modern anti-modern, in opposing the common opinion."
- Unexpected! Ugandan women have recently decided to make "sex strike" for a week to think about their responsibility to their spouse! No, no, not Benedict XVI who asked them ... And the First Lady has encouraged this initiative.

In Europe:

- Stéphane Seminckx Abbot, Doctor of medicine and theology, "Benedict XVI in Africa, more than humanitarian : Human. These authors operate a confusion between, on one hand, prevention of AIDS and, secondly, the contraceptives. Who uses a condom to prevent transmission of AIDS is an act which, in its object, is not contraception, but prophylactic. What the Church condemns is the strategy of "all the condom", the fruit of an ideology that characterized the West for over forty years: the ideal of free sex (sexual relations "in all directions" before or outside marriage) and its corollary, safe sex. The all-condom "part of the ideology of free sex and foments: this is what Benedict XVI denounced, specifying very relevant that this strategy may increase the problem. The numbers of AIDS prevalence in countries that apply the "any condoms" attest. "
- The Church invites to suffer with those who suffer. "Is this a church, retrograde and obscurantist criminal ', wrote one reader? And how dare he Pr Clumek say that the Pope 'did not have a message for the defense of values,' then he does, as John Paul II encourage marital fidelity and mutual respect ? Thereupon Benedict XVI dare say that the distribution of condoms leads inevitably increase the risk of problem 'screams! Yet psychologists know very lucid although in the long term, this massive promotion, giving young people a false security (10% of cases of possible contamination) can only encourage immorality, thus increasing further the risk of infection for the future (A reader Namur, published in La Libre).
- "Do not go very far, just a simple calculation to see that the Pope's message bothers some lobbies. There are 900 million Africans (1.5 million forecast in 2050), about 1 / 3 is male and of childbearing age. It cost 300,000 million condoms to provide more or less daily basis .... "
- "Dijon Xavier, a Jesuit Namur, followed the Pope's visit on African soil. Here is his testimony: 'In contrast to the harsh criticisms that I heard in the Western press, deeply moved by the remarks on AIDS prevention with the best, "said the Pope, is not formed by the condom, I don' 've seen here that enthusiasm. On the main street on Tuesday, the crowd was there three hours before the passage of the Pope. Large banners, flags decorated respective Cameroon and the Holy See overcame the crossroads, with phrases like "Holy Father, without exception every Cameroonian you expresses his esteem, his affection and profound admiration and sincere '(The Guardian, 23-3-09 ).

Summing:

In his homily at the Chrism Mass, Bishop Leonard, bishop of Namur, did not go around the bush and was applauded twice. extraitqui should read this summary of all the Case!
"This trip (the pope) was of exceptional quality." And to quote the bishop Cardinal Sarr, President of the Episcopal Conference Regional Francophone West Africa: 'We are grateful to the Holy Father for the whole message of hope that he came to give us (...). And we thank him for having relaunched for all, with nuance, clarity and penetration, the common teaching of the Church in pastoral AIDS patients. (...) We deplore and condemn the attack against the truth which is the sin of our post-modern world and which caused the serious injury suffered increasingly the Holy Church, our Mother. What is this world where we do not take the time to listen to the other, to listen to the end and where does he say what we want him to say? African wisdom and biblical wisdom, all focused on listening, have a different vision of the world to offer '. (...) And the apostolic nuncio in Angola, an Italian, says the whole affair in these terms:' With this manipulated history, Western journalists have stolen the media spotlight to Africans. Yes, the West Africans continue to colonize the virtual power of what they call 'information'. "
Yes, our press has robbed Africans an event that was to once to put a positive front of the media scene. They have so few opportunities to shine. And even that, we took them, by retaining all the remarkable journey that a sentence of the Pope, and even half a sentence, a truncated sentence. Is ignorance of the language or is it strategy in bad faith, but our reporters and then our parliament, seem to ignore the scope of a main clause preceded by a conditional. Listen to the following sentence: "The breakthrough drugs if taken without care and without medical assistance, exacerbating health problems instead of solving them . You will all agree with my statement (...)! But drop the conditional and keep only the main one: "The breakthrough drugs aggravate health problems instead of solving them." I guarantee you that if you make me say it, dropping a phrase, I'll be in tomorrow's newspapers accused drug denial, opposition to obscurantist science and pharmacy genocidal. That's what we did with Benedict XVI: we dropped the conditional (...) which emphasized the priority of education in responsible sexuality. And all this in favor of pure dogma apparently recognizes that our culture, that of papal infallibility that most, bordering on the absolute, that thing you know, very useful, indeed, in many cases, but will not a panacea.
Our Pope is not awkward. It is a candid and confident man. His candor is to think that intelligent men, accustomed to the finesse of language, respect the nuances of his speech. (...) If, in the 11th century, when tensions between the Church was exacerbated in the East and the West, he had found Benedict to reach out to the Patriarch Constantinople, Michael Cerularius or, in the 16th century, to chat with Martin Luther, is consumed before the break, maybe we could have avoided, despite the wrongs of both sides, tragic schisms in the history of the Christianity. Therefore honor and respect to the Pope, dragged through the mud, but is, nevertheless, our beloved and revered Holy Father in faith, hope and charity! .
IV. "A NEW GREAT SATAN ALL WHITE"
Against this seething media on Cameroon and Angola, nothing like as fierce remedy face of universal stupidity, this satirical excerpt of a philosopher and journalist (Francis MICLO, philosopher and publisher, Strasbourg, 29-03-09).

"One thing is certain: with the departure of George Bush White House, the world's media had lost its big bad wolf. She has to build one itself: Benedict XVI is now the world's number one enemy. Let him say a word or remain silent, he became the favorite bastard of our time. And it is left for this state are terminated with his pontificate. Confess that, for the role of the big bad wolf is a good customer. He is German, that is to say very good for machine tools, dunce for public relations and is a Catholic, detestable thing in a world where religions are a bit more consistent with the idea of coolness (right -of-the Rightism, ecology, Obama, etc.). he tries to make sentences and conduct reasoning, at a time when the listener picks lambda from the first word pronounced. The case of African hood - dirty blow to English - a perfect illustration of this phase shift between the Pope and the media sphere (...).

Both say right away: If you are African and contract the disease, your chance of being treated is close to zero. Antiretroviral drugs are extremely expensive and, unlike India, Africa has no pharmaceutical company can produce them in their generic form. It's therefore important, when one allows it.

(...) Everyone is invited to adopt the pornonomie as the only morality. And the time will come when the pope will act from the balcony of St. Peter (...), will invite perhaps, in a light impulse, the whole world to a multiple orgasm, participatory and protected. The world except Africa, as it will burst, she after having been allowed to eat everything, sex and condoms, outrage and rhetoric. She has had the right to consume everything, except the triple. Sorry, black man, you have not enough money.

V. The last joke Belgian Parliament
Parliament of Belgium condemns the remarks of the Pope!
Belgium (universal jurisdiction would have it) was the first to condemn the Pope through official channels (Vers l'Avenir, 2-4-09). Given this conviction, the Vatican has expressed, with dignity and a bit of humor, his "astonishment" of his "astonishment" (Le Soir, 4-4-09). "The great tradition and experience of the Church in education and health in this regard is quite evident, even in poorer countries. One can also wonder whether the position of the Holy Father has been studied with sufficient attention and seriousness, or rather through non-objective and biased filter of echoes in the Western media. "
"The protest of the Belgian Parliament on April 1, laughing throughout Europe. Unless it is indirectly involved in the misfortune of Africa "could be read in the press, the latter 7-4. Reaction of a reader to the Future, 8-4: "With the passing of a motion for insulting a head of state who is also the highest moral authority in the world, the lower house (very low!) Of Belgium has regained its invincible unity '. This never happened before, not even at the time of Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot. Let there be no mistake: what reproach these gentlemen and ladies, do not hamper the fight against AIDS, but to be the troublemaker of abortion, euthanasia, etc.. . Fortunately the Senate, he - opportunism, because the wind has changed? - Refused this proclamation, definitely buried without a vote. ... So damp squib. And it is rumored that the members authorized to officially hand over the protest to the Apostolic Nuncio in Belgium have not been received, but were told they could answer the intercom just drop it in the mailbox ...
VI. This dirty linen that crowded! . . .
A stained dress, fell in the mud, waiting for us long before washing it? Let us be careful not an injury that could become infected? No, of course. By cons, we tend to forget that our soul also needs to be washed, treated regularly. The Christian life is incompatible with the bourgeois spirit, the warmth with which God vomits (Rev. 3:16). Jesus cursed the fig tree had no fruit to satisfy his hunger. St. Pierre has warned that the devil never sleeps! And since Adam, men abuse the freedom that God gives his creatures to love and loving one another. Such lack of love are offenses against God.
In November 2007, a privileged soul, Alan Ames, could contemplate "He had it pierced." When Jesus showed him how sins have contributed to the cross, he saw that every sin he had committed in his life has really hurt Jesus. Disgusted with himself, before a gentle Jesus and loving, he decided to fully recover in question. At the sight of all our darkness, against our losses, we must especially avoid discouraging us, to stay ashore. This discouragement is the result of our wounded self-esteem and thus a form of pride! it is normal to stumble. All Saints are considered sinners. For St. Francis de Sales: "Life is to sew, always." In any human activity, success is the result of a long patience, effort endlessly repeated. The earth does not deliver his harvest without plowing and the kite rises against the wind. After a fall, you get up and we humbly back on the road course with the grace of God, for Jesus has said (John 15:5): "Without me ye can do nothing." Progress often comes after several failures overcome. Let us recall the statement of St. Paul: "Everything works for good to them that love God."
The first job is to examine our consciences regularly, preferably every night. What have I written on the blank page of my day? What took the most place today? (...) Do me Am I concerned that my business? What I decide to change? Detect primarily our fault dominant (...). Do not forget to find three things: the sins of omission, although we could have done and we have not done, the sins of others we have been the cause. After calling our blackness by name, let the flat, we must admit the confession, with a sincere repentance. Then remain faithful to the directives of the confessor that we chose, shunning occasions of relapse.
(...) And what a release, what we revival know! To get rid of our guilt secret, no need to go through the lengthy, costly and uncertain path of psychoanalysis! The sacrament of forgiveness gives us the strength to overcome evil, strengthen our virtue. Storm shows the fragility of the roof, but the damaged part is often stronger after being repaired.
However, there is still a sore point: the repair, too often neglected. The penance which the confessor gives not enough (...) Is it really so simple to repair injuries, injuries caused to others, recover full spiritual health? Simple justice requires that we do something again. If we do not fix our wrongs here, we must supplement it later! This supplement penitential can take many forms: prayer, voluntary self-denial, shares in the service of neighbor, etc.. But the most effective daily serene acceptance of the cross that the Lord has chosen our measure.
short, at one time or another, we really are called to convert us. Lent and a confession alone may not suffice to resolve the laundry with all our dirty laundry accumulated for decades. So roll up our sleeves! First, let us, for us and our children, to protect us from dirt the powerful media (TV, Internet, etc..) are subjected daily to our eyes and ears ... ! The holy Cure of Ars said: "We spoil our poor soul, like an oil stain spoils a beautiful fabric. If we do not hurry to wash it, it will still widening. "
VII. A blank
Wave of indiscriminate killings in schools (Belgium, USA, UK) due to the loss of values and any point: "No future". "After the death of God is dead man ", said about Malraux. John Paul II spoke of a civilization of death. But if we take these words, we go for retrograde!
The dream of a priest of Liège! "In my dream I saw the pope tomorrow, surprisingly young and handsome, wearing a simple tunic, sandals on feet. Since Vatican III, he had left his luxurious palaces, now converted into housing for the homeless and undocumented. (...) In the Christian communities of tomorrow, I saw straight and gay men finally recognized in their difference and truth. I Having divorced and remarried happy to be greeted after their painful loss. Nobody was excluded (...). In a beautiful liturgy, stripped of all its archaisms, the Assemblies of God praised tomorrow with one heart and pray with faith to move mountains. Did I see? In my dream, those who presided over the Assembly were men or women (...) "(Parish Bulletin: 4,000 copies distributed without problem, to criticize the Church ...).
Just release a film, "Our children will accuse us," a nice apology and soporific of Ecology : We may give our children a world where nature is being polluted. When is a film about "Our children will accuse us of having sent to a world that denies the most beautiful values and passing laws against nature"? It is true that some can not accuse us: they are dead, murdered a few weeks in the womb, with repayment not Safely!
Persecution of Christians
o 50 countries in the world persecute Christians by depriving them of work, raping, killing them. In Pakistan, they are locked in a park at Christians. In Turkey, murders of priests. Kabylie (Algeria), Christians must marry in a cave and shame (Vers l'Avenir, 10-4-09).
o Martyrs in Iraq According to the Chaldean archbishop of Kirkuk, Monsignor Sako, the presence of Christians is earlier than Islam (La Libre 21/22-4-09). He asked Christians to pray that "the blood of martyrs brings peace." He fears that the violence which "seem never to end" do not aggravate the "exodus" of Christians and being erased from the map of Iraq "Two Thousand Years of History" (Family Christian, 18-4 -09).
o Filipino Christians Islamists terrorized by the terrorist Abu Sayyaf beheaded two hostages Christians in the region Balisan, including one on Friday. They hold hostage a third (Family Christian, 25-4 - / 1-5-09).
o Erdoganan tried in vain to oppose the appointment of Rasmussen at the head of NATO, among others he relied on the Mohammed cartoons published by a Danish newspaper in 2005 and Rasmussen had defended in the name of freedom of expression ....
Religious freedom: and reciprocity? "From my point of view, one could even build Rome mosque which would be higher than St. Peter's Basilica. But in return I would not be arrested if I say Mass in Saudi Arabia. Clearly, without reciprocity, respect for fundamental rights such as religious freedom can not work over time "(The president of the German Bishops' Conference).
Euthanasia
o In Belgium, despite the legal prohibition, many children are put to sleep: 85% of nurses have been mixed (survey 2009). Thus, 141 nurses in five of the seven units of the country were interviewed (s) on their practice in order to interrupt the lives of sick children. Some 76 nurses (out of 89 respondents) say they intervened (s) in such cases over the past two years. In 88% of cases, it was decided to discontinue treatment (mechanical ventilation, intravenous fluids, drugs ...). In 34% of cases), barbiturates and neuromuscular paralyzing have even been injected into 25 children, which is not authorized by law (La Libre, March 27, 2009).
abortion, contraception, etc..
o Christian mutuality ... reduced price contraceptives. A small brochure ... Christian Mutuality provides information on reducing the price of contraceptives prescribed for children under 21 years, as well as planning centers.
o Contraception and abortion: the confusion! "The trend seems to assert itself in Wallonia: the absence of any contraception, girls often resort to abortion more ... as a contraceptive (...) In planning centers and marriage counseling and family, the number of abortions has increased by 15.10% in 3 years we went from 3,557 abortions in 2004 to 4,094 in 2007 " (News 24).
o Respect the embryo ! The Walloon Parliament examines the fate of embryos stillborn, too often promised in the trash. "A difficulty arises however, when fixing a minimum term of gestation. In any case, no question, for members, down to below 84 days (12 weeks) because it would risk to challenge the abortion law, which we know has become a right Women, when he was not, initially, that decriminalize, in cases of distress proved what remained a crime (one reader to the Future 0.16-3-09).
o abortions in Namur at the Centre for Family Planning Willy Peers. At the family planning center of Namur, they practice 350 abortions per year. "Some pregnant teenagers are knocking at the door of the center. It can be seen in the animations we are doing here, that young people have sex early on: this morning, a teacher told me about a student of 12 years. They are still children, but they play great. "(La Libre 11-2-09).
o Demonstration for stopping tests on monkeys ... At Louvain, some 300 demonstrators protested against the neurological tests performed by the KUL on laboratory monkeys. For practical experiments are an important source of suffering Animals and are unnecessary because alternatives exist (after Belga). Question: what about human embryos? Do they not suffer, them? !
o Trisomy: a profitable remove all sheets! A comparative study concluded that "the weight of their elimination is socially less heavy to bear the weight of their existence" ... To be valid, this accounting assumes that a diagnosis of trisomy 21 is systematically followed by an abortion. Also in his letter of 11/2/08, the French Prime Minister expressed concern about the use of prenatal diagnosis and preimplantation "The provisions governing the practice ensure effective implementation of the principle prohibiting any practice eugenics? (Gènéthique, February 2009).
VIII. READERS
Thanks for the pub providential that we had made "THE CALL OF THE BELLS! In the monthly
Liège CALL (January 2009), Ms. Detoumay attacks our review: a whole page! Advertising unexpected delights us .... It does not support "the lecturing, the fanatics, the nastiness" we are guilty of "to extol the 'good Catholic' and 'down in flames every offender, "and we issue" judgments sometimes bigoted, sometimes accusers, sparing that "a certain eminence Walloon." Clearly, the bishop of Namur, which is described here. It is true that his detractors are legion, we see no reason to chime in, but at least about heretic (or denial!), It is respectfully called upon to retract.
For the rest, be honest: we do not practice the philosophical pluralism Discount Ms Detoutnay, who mix with musical or culinary preferences! As if the deposit of faith was akin to the map of Hilton. In short, more relativistic than that, you die. Yet we are not monolithic, and we look forward, for example, the multiplicity of new communities, such as the release of the extraordinary form of the Latin rite, but the Creed is untouchable. Deviance and moral and doctrinal abuses especially liturgical abuses, they also hurt the church fellowship, scandalize the good Christian people, the abuse by making him believe that it is Vatican II wanted relativism and ozone depletion, which think Peguy: "It would build my temple in cans. And Timber Cross kindle his fire. "This lady
wishes for the Church today" firmly anchored in society. " Probably is meant by this that it must be welcoming to current practices: contraception, abortion, genetic engineering, euthanasia, homosexuality, etc.? It ignores St. Paul saying "do not be conformed to the world," or St. Jacques: "adultery, do not you know that friendship for the world is enmity against God? . We see evil everywhere? If, instead of practicing the policy of the ostrich, we denounce the abuse that many ignore, we welcome also offer you each time a load of Good News, fruits of the Holy Spirit in the Church today: 3 pages in this number.
For us, it is in the tradition of the Apostles that we want to remain seated and as we are in the line of hierarchy, we do not take to the Magisterium, we have no reason to sign our items. What good, indeed, exposed to the lynching, the stake, the terrorist attacks? A potential victim is enough! EV
