POPE PIUS XII, THE CHURCH AND THE JEWS

Born in Rome, March 3, 1876, Eugenio Pacelli was long right arm of Cardinal Gasparri, Vatican Secretary of State. In 1917 during the war world, he was appointed Nuncio to Bavaria, and in 1920, Nuncio of the new German Republic. In 1930, he negotiated a concordat with Germany, but Hitler took power in 1933 was responsible for numerous violations of the concordat.

Eugenio Pacelli is elected Pope March 2, 1939 while Hitler continued preparations for the Second World War. At Christmas 1939, when the war was triggered by Hitler in September, Pius XII publishes a document in which he gives five key principles for a peace between nations. In Italy, Mussolini comes to the aid of Hitler June 10, 1940. Pius XII organizes an extensive program relief to prisoners of war. Hitler occupied Rome by the SS September 10, 1943. Pius XII, December 24, 1942 and June 2, 1943 had denounced the atrocities of the Nazi extermination of Jews by Hitler learns that after the protest of the bishops of Holland this monster did pick up the Jews for thousands exterminated in the crematoria of Auschwitz. In 1943, Pope Pius XII gave to the Jesuit Dezza: "They complain that the Pope does not speak. But the Pope can not speak. If he spoke, it would be worse. " Instead of launching a public protest that he was preparing, but which could trigger a new wave of arrests, Pius XII secretly opened the Vatican to the Jews of Rome. Over 500, hidden in the Vatican, he should live, while hundreds more were shipped to the destination and death camp crematoria.

After the war, from 1945, thanks Jews, Jewish dignitaries, heads of government of the State of Israel tributary to the Vatican. Pius XII is seen as a rescuer of the Jewish people. We recall only that it led to the conversion of the Chief Rabbi of Rome and the thanks of Golda Meir. In 1963, Rolf Hochuth up in Berlin, at the instigation of the KGB, a play entitled Der Stellvertreter (Vicar), in which he accuses Pius XII did nothing for the Jews during the war. The media in Europe anticlerical seize this room and make an infernal din against Pius XII and the Church cons. Since then, numerous publications, essential documents relied on, all showed what Pius XII and the Church had done to save thousands of Jews during World War II.

recent media attacks against Benedict XVI have multiplied and have not hesitated to mutilate his lyrics to influence public opinion. This was the case when the Supreme Pontiff proclaimed the heroic virtues of Pius XII. "Lie, lie, Voltaire said: there will always be something."

II. Being afraid of the new Archbishop of Malines-Brussels?

We will not waste our time here to report suspicious about the sometimes surly, guided and unjust that the appointment of Bishop Leonard as Archbishop of Mechelen-Brussels has raised every day, especially among francophones on TV and in a Much of the press. They are unworthy of journalists supposed to objectively inform their readers ... The truth is that his detractors are afraid of him, knowing they will never be able to "put in a box" because of his intelligence, his clarity and a calm reflecting a singular strength of character. It is they who have been "boxed" (cf. RTBF Wednesday 03-02-10).

HERE BUT A FEW SAMPLES OF ATTACKS:

- "Leonardo, the man with phobias" (a member Walloon, Vers l'Avenir, 26/01/10)
- "Bishop Leonard will not do that he wants with the Liegeois' (a priest of the diocese of Liege)
- "It's not a disaster, but almost! (...) We know that he was pleased with the appointment of Benedict XVI. And with it, we may see the return of priests Lefebvrist friendly cassocks and the Mass in Latin. (One. .. dean of the diocese of Namur).
- "If man shines, he is also afraid. Because it never advances masked remember what the doctrine of the Church, might give rise to confusion among the 'people of God. " (O. Rogeau, Vif-The Express, 22/01/10).
- "Benedict XVI dares Monsignor Leonard (Le Soir, 16/01/10).
- "The appointment Leonardo revives the divisions "(Le Soir, 19/01/10).
- "The Church does more than lead the UC Louvain" (La Libre Belgique, 19/01/10)
- "According to our survey, only 17% of Catholics believe that Andre Leonard will do an excellent or good archbishop - "I thought I had more opponents," says Bishop Leonard (Le Soir, 20/01/10).

BUT OTHERS THINK OTHERWISE ...

* Welcome, my lord,
as I know, Christ and his apostles did not invite us to build our faith on a sponge, a soft material that absorbs and erases but on the rock. No offense to adherents of a religion bland, tasteless and colorless, Our Lord is "a cornerstone, not gelatin. Not displease them again, this is not the name of relativism, syncretism, the desire to please the world and tolerance in all directions as Christians died as martyrs, but because true to the Word of God (that they do not read by practicing the "sorting"), they believed in God, crucified and risen for our sins, save us from eternal death. Also, in an era of disorder and confusion, the despair and doubt suffered by humble, how not to rejoice that our Pope Benedict XVI has chosen an apostle clear and strong, conscious of unity in truth and not a pseudo-assembly between the true Catholic faith and doctrines that are otherwise.
A word of Cardinal Luciani (better known under the name John Paul I) comes to my mind. "Faith, he writes, is endangered not only by the assaults of those who attack it, but also by the silence of those who have the duty to speak, that is to say the bishops, servants the Word of God. " Dear Monsignor Leonard, welcome to you who, despite the hostility of many media, dare I am sure, to proclaim that "sound doctrine" which is so dear to St. Paul, has shaped the lives of so many saints. J.-P. Snyers, diocese of Liège

* Interview J.-Ph. NAVEZ, Professor, 31 (Tele Mosquito 26/01/10)

- Do you understand that it is disputed, including by Catholics?
Yes, because it was locked in an image that does not match. It is much more nuanced, more subtle than the caricature that is made. I've seen come into schools where it was awaited for by young people who considered him a bigot. After listening, most Young gave him reason.
- And when he says our TV mosquito that "homosexuals have encountered a blockage in their normal psychological development, which makes them abnormal, you follow it?
- It does not say that homosexuals are abnormal. Like Freud, he explains that there is a differentiation between the sexes and that in the nature of things, man is made to go with the woman. He wants to especially stress that to give birth to a human, it takes a man and a woman.

* (...) He knows what he wants. He wants, including priests for the Church and it is no coincidence that the diocese of Namur has half seminarians from Belgium.
- Who come to many foreign countries?
... And then I do not care that there are Poles and Africans among them. What matters is that new blood is brought into the Church by these young people, who know how to Namur, they receive a solid education.
Player Namur, interviewed by La Libre Belgique, 19/01/10. * All

guilty! "An attacking player, once again, to Bishop Leonard in Towards the Future of 2-1. His latest plan? Extremely serious: guilty, before thousands of viewers, having refrained from condemning Pope Benedict XVI, who himself is guilty of wanting beatify Pius XII, who was guilty, he, sympathy for Nazism ... In short, all guilty, including anyone who dare to defend the bishop, thus revealing his own penchant fascist! Player Vers l'Avenir, 12-1-10.

astonishing interview of Jean-Michel JAVAUX, co-president of Ecolo: he talks about his Catholic faith in Le Soir on 01/30/2010). Excerpts of his remarks to a great franchise have no in-tention policy, and publishing them, we are not trying to "solicit". But our readers deserve to know ...
- You are the surprise of our investigation. The Catholic religion has influence?
J.-M. Javaux: "One of the reasons I'm 'known' already is that I communicate (...). I am a Christian family. Up to 14-15 years, I am looking. There was Patro Ampsin (near Amay) home. Important (...). I am head of Patro and I will lead the leadership team of a group of Pele with people with disabilities. " [However, he was educated at the university] (...).
- And Andrew Leonard, our new Primate?
J. J.: We must not caricature the speech of Andrew Leonard on homosexuals. You can have a debate with him. This is a high spirit, formidable, and not in the negative sense. A pure intelligence. Much more nuanced than we think. " "Ah! if the priests were able to marry, maybe one day I thought about being a priest. "
- A. Leonard, a high spirit?
J.-GM: "You do not meet 50 men like him in his life. I look forward to his performance in 'Responding to a question, next Wednesday at the RTBF [Editor's note: Providing superb, even immediate answers to questions the most treacherous ... Initially, 27% of the recorded responses were supportive of the new archbishop, the end, 62 %!...]. Journalists are advised to prepare well. He canceled an important meeting in Rome to participate in the program. He has a mischievous side hyper. "
- Provocateur, too?
J.-GM: "Yes." [Then, comparing it to another Deputy Prime Minister]: "Same pure intelligences, sometimes victims themselves when they go too far in provocative. But he leaves no one indifferent. It arouses reflection. Cardinal Danneels is idolized rightly but if he was boss of the RTBF and RTL-TVI, he was fired for a long time, because .... his numbers are bad. "
- Laurette Onkelinx [other Deputy Prime Minister], among others, Andrew Leonard as a means dogmatic?
J.-GM: "For underestimate the man. She has 'screwed up' by saying it threatened the Belgian compromise. This compromise is the separation of church and state, which remains ".
[The author does not conceal, however, disagreed with Archbishop Leonardo on several ethical issues].
And the undocumented?
WYD: "Leonard had opened his episcopal palace to undocumented migrants. Is it progressive so far? The function creates man. I do not rule it surprised many people by a more subtle ".
- (...) By the way, are you practicing?
J.-GM: "It's a little more complicated, I feel very Christian, is very close to the Catholic religion, but there are things in the Catholic reading of the texts and the structuring of the clergy in which I do not recognize myself. "

CONVERSATION HASQUIN Herve, president emeritus of the ULB, key figure in the secular world Belgian
I would say three things : The first, which passes the background - and yet in our country we often attaches importance - that it is the first Walloon, since almost a century, is named Primate of the Church of Belgium. This is an example that could be drawn in Belgian politics! Secondly, I think we did a little too quickly disregard intellectual qualities of character. It is a brilliant academic. When one is not Catholic, we must recognize that we are dealing with an intellectually formidable opponent: this is not a poor who is appointed at the head of the Church of Belgium. Third, I recognize another quality - and personally, as secular and agnostic, this is something that comforts me, because it will avoid misunderstandings: Bishop Leonard does not advance masked. By his words and his attitude, he deserves it, for me to recall clearly what the doctrine of the Catholic Church. Because in his remarks that may offend some people - when he says he is against abortion, euthanasia, homosexuality and I forget, no doubt - it only report the substance of Catholic doctrine. I do so want him not: it is here for!
(...) At least with Archbishop Leonardo, you know what to expect. Therefore, the secular Action Center, who needed it, still has a bright future ahead of him ...
H. Hasquin, Le Soir, 19/01/10

* Judging the acts. "Have we no right - and indeed the duty - to judge the appointment of Bishop Leonard on his actions, namely those who are yet to come? . This remark struck the seal of common sense does not come from Bishop's University Club or Jousten Gustave Thibon: Jean-Maurice is DEHOUSSE [former Socialist minister and mayor of Liege] that should, claiming the "presumption of innocence" (in La Libre Belgique 22-1-10). "For my part, I enjoyed the debates in the dialectical sense of the bishop, of course, but also the fact that he is not afraid to express his convictions" (in Toward the Future 23-1-10) .

What is your greatest weakness? asked Le Vif of 22/01/10.
"Do not be so vulnerable, being insufficiently met by the attacks. People then have the unpleasant impression that I am unmoved. The human misery can move me to tears, but I am not emotionally affected by critics, which upsets here and there. I have good memories of good times, but am amnesiac blows carry me. "

* Response Mutien Omer HOUZIAUX, prof. Emeritus at the Univ. Liège, the editorial aggressive La Libre Belgique on 9-1-10 ... "As if to make sure the heat of a blaze that made you so wish, you prophesy: the arrival of Bishop Leonard at the Archbishopric divide the Christian community in Belgium. One can hardly imagine a more execrable villainy (...). For future editorials LLB, engage no more procrastinating some Deputy Prime socialist anticlericalism its atavistic will do wonders in a job otherwise unworthy of you. "

Already in 1861, Cardinal Pie, Bishop of Poitiers wrote to Pope Pius IX really prescient letter certifying that the denigration of the appointed Archbishop of Malines-Brussels is the victim is an old method: translate the bishop before the Court of public opinion to be heard "the voice of the people ... . "Now the secular courts," wrote Cardinal Pie, have control of the word pastoral (...) and it is for lay judges to ask the priests to their bishop's doctrine (...). Finally, we will form a scaffold of any charges, and we will draw up the batteries with which we want to try eating a great blow and an act refined perversity. " Times have not changed!

IV. THE PARABLE OF THE MOTORIST

In the first stage of the driver, a young man inclined to use the power of its engine 2010 cm3. It is, therefore, not looking too over the speed limit or the priority given to pedestrians in crosswalks. His car, he pampers every week, is equipped with the latest technology. The sound is so pervasive that potential passengers are silenced. It is a bachelor who seeks release because it believes it must take all that modern life has to offer. As he runs to succeed his career, he has no Ie time to take a hitchhiker or helping someone in distress along the way ...

In the forties, our driver enters the second stage of Conduct. He developed the caution after a few accidents and a lot of tickets. He ended up sharing heartily the highway with all other users. Father, he practiced systematically carpooling and Ie often run errands for neighbors in need. But carried away by his social commitment, he wonders at the end of the month, why he has traveled many miles, why its Internet phones and earned her bills so high! If he tries to please all Ie world is, in reality, we appreciate his own person. Yes, he wants to succeed in life, but so far he is not satisfied. His faith in Providence remains theoretical, because he appears worried by the uncertainties of life today, For the future face of his. He even wondered if he's still going in the right direction.
Then he can reach the third stage and approaching the perfect conduct. Around age 60, he realizes that all the short cuts he traveled led him exactly where Providence chose. One day, realizing that his ways are not God's ways, he asks Christ to drive for him to become a passenger who is guided towards God and towards others. He now leaves the care of Jesus to choose his route. Of course, this causes a stir in his entourage. If one day he was arrested on the road by police who detect its "spiritual drunkenness" and condemns his conduct, he will rely on the Savior's words: "Put yourself in the spirit that you do not prepare your defense because I'll give myself a language and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict "(Luke 21, 14 - 15). The man is invited to leave his control in the glove box and put like a little child, his confidence in the Lord's love.
If we respect the "rules of the road universal" given on Mount Sinai, Jesus will take care of all our burdens, our problems. He said: eat, drink, clothing? The heavenly Father knows that you need all that ... "Do not worry about the next day!) (Mt 6: 25-34). It's wonderful to have someone, mindful of our true human potential, on which we can always count! Of course, it takes effort to drain all the noises of the world, to become silent and listening. We will also regularly review all sensitive points of our vehicle. And one day, on the road, will emerge ... praise. Many thanks to God for the daily route he has chosen for us, definitely the best! It's an obstacle course tailored for each of us. In short, God offers us the gift of a life that looks like an exciting rally terrain, sometimes stressful, but what a joy divine, what bridal party on arrival Winners, who dared to lose everything ... Everything to gain!

V. YOUR EVIL

[Excerpts from "36 proofs of the existence of the Devil", by André Frossard, Albin Michel, 1991, 215 pp. Letter 25: is the devil who speaks].

Rome, September 8.
Dear Sir,

I expected that the famous warning from your Pope Paul VI's "smoke of Satan entered the Church! "Provoke the disturbance in your parishes. I imagined your bishops beating the air with their jumpers and the fly opening doors and windows to evacuate at the same time my noxious fumes and smoke priests (...). I was wrong, nothing happened. My smoke had probably suffocated many consciences (...).

(...) I breathed, which had the effect of increasing the sulfur content of your atmosphere, and everything went on as before. Your theologians continued to indulge in the delights of pure research, which involves finding nothing after all called into question, so that the good Christian people abandoned its perplexities do not know what to think, if we believe. As it offers a cure for purifying atheism, another makes it a materialist reading of the Gospel, or return it to Karl Marx. One cried "God is death in Jesus Christ! "Equivocal formula as interpreted by the simple confirmation of doctrinal" God is dead "Nietzsche, more than Father. Over Son either, because for the other is "Jesus that we should forget" a seminary professor steeped in psychoanalysis has just published an excellent work (I'm a personal matter its distribution) advising Christians make early in their Oedipus 'killing' in them the founder of their religion, the tyrannical presence hinders the free nurtured their personality huge severance (...). That said, I do not like the Church, even if it reaches his staff assist in my good works by creating doubt among the faithful and the depredation of the sacraments (...).

evacuation doctrine is nearing completion: the Creator God "to the" resurrection of the flesh "and" eternal life "(you prefer to say:" The life of the world has come, "which surely will) it No is not an article of the creed which is now heard five or six different meanings and some ¬ times contradictory, so that your last synod bishops had seen, without too much emotion from the rest, they don ' catechism had more had they still catechists. Their lacrosse windings ¬ subdivided by a question mark is more than a symbol of perplexity dogmatic, and if Jesus Christ returned to ask the final question of the Gospel, Peter, do you love me? "They would not dare ANSWERS ¬ before consulting Dr. Gregoire.
(...). The successor of Peter is attacked from all sides. Some deny its infallibility, because today everyone is infallible, except the pope, the other increasing the bows, and insult at the same time. The church is crowded with reformers, who claim to reform the other for failing to reform themselves (...).

And if [Christians] find something to criticize in the midst of cries and fury of the world, this is not about being unable to convert, but having tried to do it once. However, in the confusion and anarchy, the great stampede discrete ordinary faithful began, I suppose that statistics do not leave any illusions about that. In human eyes, this can not continue. A diabolical views, even less. I'll be at the end of my sentences.
Religiously yours.
The Devil.

PS I hope this predictable collapse of the Church announces no more rebirth. It made me more than once shot Lazarus: I ran the funeral in the feelings that you know me, and I found her standing, jeering, who offered me his bandages to make me leggings. I hate this kind of joke.

VI. For the year priesthood: the priest and the Church

It said that Georges Bernanos, in Diary of a Country Priest (1936).

PRIEST

Good God did not write that we were the honey of the earth, my boy, but the salt. (...). Salt on a raw skin, it burns. But it also prevents it from rotting. With the idea of exterminating the devil, your other hobby is to be loved, loved for yourself, that is. A true priest is never loved, remember this. And do you want me to say? The Church does not care that you're loved, my boy. Be the first respected, obeyed. The Church needs order. Make an order to day length. Make the order thinking that disorder will win again the next day because it is precisely in order, alas! that plug in night air on the eve of your work - the night belongs to the devil.

(In front of the body to which the Countess, the day before, the village priest had made peace:) "Be at peace," had I said. And she received the Peace knees. Guard it! It is I who gave it to him. What a marvel, and we can do now what we do not have yourself, O sweet miracle of our empty hands! (...).. I removed the veil of muslin, the fingers touched the forehead high and pure, full of silence. And poor little priest that I am, before that so superior to woman me yesterday by age, birth, wealth, mind, I understand - yes, I understood what it was fatherhood.

CHURCH The Church has strong nerves, sin does not scare him, however. She looks across the way, quietly, and even the example of Our Lord, she takes over, she assumes. (...) Well, I'll define a Christian people by its opposite. The opposite of a Christian people, it's a sad people, a people of old. You tell me that the definition is not too theological. Okay. But it has something to think about the gentlemen who are yawning at the Mass on Sunday. "

(...) "I'd like to take one of those who learned to treat me obscurantist, I would say:" It's not my fault if I wear a costume undertaker. After all, the Pope dressed in white though, and cardinal red. I have the right to walk dressed as the Queen of Sheba, because I bring joy. I give you for nothing if you ask me. The Church has the joy of the entire share of joy reserved for this sad world. What you have done against it, you did cons joy. Do I stop you, I calculate the precession of the equinoxes or the atoms disintegrate? But you would to make life even if you lost the meaning of life? You will just make you blow your brains before your retorts. Make life as you want! The image you give of death gradually poisons the minds of the poor, it darkens, it slowly fades their past joys.

And We French (1939), he wrote:
I would not live five minutes outside the Church and if you drove me, I would go back immediately, barefoot, shirt, rope neck, Finally, the conditions that you like to impose on me, whatever. (Georges Bernanos We French).

"The impossibility of conceiving that this grand and wonderful universe, including our consciousness, or appeared by accident I think the main argument for the existence of God."
Darwin.

I. Editorial: The Synod for Africa?

From 4 to 25 October 2009 at the Vatican, 1297 bishops from 153 countries in Africa have gathered around Pope Benedict XVI. A few months ago, the Holy Father had an apostolic visit to Cameroon and Angola, where he had met with delegates from African bishops' conferences and with them he developed the program of the Synod. The Western media had shouted loud, but even then the African bishops had responded by speaking of "dictatorship of the West" and "neo-colonialism culture."
October 4, at the opening of the synod, Benedict XVI, referring to the preparatory document, spoke of "spiritual toxic waste" exported to Africa by the West. The major axis defined the early sessions is obvious: the family of God in Africa's mission is to transform this vast continent, and keep the lungs healthy spiritual releasing all fears the people, ensuring an ongoing conversion and looking squarely at the difficulties and problems of the entire African society.

At various times, courageous voices have been raised to warn against Western cultural imperialism and against its contagion. Thus, in his speech, Cardinal Sarr, archbishop of Dakar, a brilliant and uninhibited prelate said: "We Africans, we are living in great esteem from its beginning to its end. We have inherited from our ancestors wisdom of life and a love of life reinforced by the Christian religion. Imperialism Western claims that sexuality is a pleasure. By cons, we say it is a collaborative creation by God. "

In Africa, say the bishops in each diocese, the seminar is full of seminarians intent on preparing for the priesthood. Our mission is to train all bishops for the priesthood. Also African families are a valuable asset in themselves and for society as a whole. In the area of families, the Catholic Church is invited to play a leading role.

In various African countries themselves up many universities for the development of "knowledge". Here too the Church has a great mission: training of an elite in various fields, teaching the social doctrine of the Church, creating a teaching value.

The last few days have been reserved in the formulation of projects for various African countries and the establishment of structures of a permanent dialogue between the churches from Tunis to Cape Town. Africa is running.

Conclusions Synod shall be given to Pope told the bishops 24-10:

"Now, the term 'Church-Family of God 'is no longer just a concept, an idea, but a living experience of those weeks we were really united here as the Family of God (...). The theme in itself represented a difficult challenge, with two dangers, I would say. The theme 'Reconciliation, Justice and Peace' certainly implies a strong political dimension (...). The other danger was - just to escape the temptation - to withdraw into a purely spiritual world, in an abstract world and beautiful, but that is not realistic (...). It was the great problem of the Synod, and it seems to me that, thank God, we managed to solve it, This represents for me a source of gratitude, because the development of post-synodal document is so much easier. " The spokesman for the bishops said: "The synod fathers do not wear gloves, the message is sharp."

II. Anglicans' FINALLY BACK AT HOME "

Reverend Anthony John Hepworth, Primate of the Traditional Anglican Communion (TAC), founded 30 years ago in North America because of women's ordination and gay marriage , is the main actor of some approximation of Anglicans with the Roman Catholic Church. It responds exclusively to Family Issues Christian (31-10, at pp. 8-12): "The night I heard the pope's decision, he said, I called the bishops of the forty-four countries where we operate and we cried with joy ... It is over four hundred years that Anglicans awaited this day. "

"On behalf of the 400,000 faithful of the TAC, I would say our immense gratitude to the pope! We prayed and fasted that day comes ... Finally, we move from uncertainty to certainty, since we are now under the authority of one who has received from Christ's delegation to establish the truth. We are finally back home! He believes that Cardinal Newman was a leading figure in the reconciliation with the Roman Catholic roots: "The Pope's decision is the answer to tears and prayer of Cardinal Newman! The Primate of Nigeria (20 million followers) also admits that this decision does reflect Rome; other churches in Africa and Asia also threatens to break.

Pope has indeed made history, announcing an Apostolic Constitution, the fruit of 40 years of ecumenical dialogue. The Catholic Church is ready to host the Anglicans who seek full communion with Rome (the "Anglo-Catholics"), while retaining their liturgy: in fact there are already twenty rites in the Catholic Church. It will create "ordinariates (dioceses) worldwide and married former Anglican priests will be ordained as Catholic priests. The bishops again become married priests, but future seminarians will commit to celibacy, only the bishops remain unmarried bishops. In short, a Catholic does not make a more Anglican less. It is believed that thousands of priests and dozens of bishops will be seduced by this opening. Instead of individual conversions, the Pope - that's new - calls for reconciliation in droves. "This is the biggest event since the beginnings of our church! "Exclaims St. Parkinson lay London to a combination of 5 bishops, 1,000 priests and 7,000 faithful.

course there are negative reactions who see a way to entice the Anglican communities. "The Church of England is in shock" (the Times), "The shot is deadly and it sounded the death knell of the established church" (National Secular Society). We really regret that Sunday (1-11) is shown critical with the headline "The Anglicans unhappy! Yet

Vincent Gerard Nichols, Catholic Archbishop of Westminster and Rowan Williams, Anglican Archbishop of Canterbury have made a joint statement in London on October 20. Excerpts: "The announcement today of the Apostolic Constitution is an answer given by Pope Benedict XVI to numerous requests for several years at Holy groups of Anglicans who wish to join in a full and visible communion with the Roman Catholic Church, and with a desire to declare that they share a common Catholic faith and accept the Petrine ministry as Christ has willed for his Church. "

Editorial Le Figaro (22-10), by Yves Thréard: "The Pope, as many observers have been pleased to present as a Catholic sectarian (...), is currently administering a lesson to all critics steeped in prejudice, ignorance and caricatures (...). It was announced transitional pope, he will perhaps be one of reconciliation: 'Have faith', he had launched at the beginning of his pontificate (...). He plays cards on the table, causing the spirit of concord (...). His proselytizing is not militant. He appealed first to the intelligence .
We think the suddenness of this information would also be a positive signal to the fundamentalists seeking communion with Rome: 26-10 began discussions with the doctrinal Lefebvrists ...

III. GOOD NEWS

Vocations

"Dare to ask the Lord for the grace of a priestly vocation in your family." Prefect of the Congregation for the Clergy, Cardinal Claudio Hummes has called "deeply Christian families" have not "fear the Lord chooses one of (their) children to be a priest (from Christian Family, 15 / 08/09). "We can not do without priests. Our situation has become that of a mission country. The former mission countries - Africa Star - give us priests today. This is because mothers transmitting their son on their knees, unconditional love of Jesus, led in turn to vocations to hatch "(Marie-Joëlle Guillaune, Family Christian, 7-11).

Vitality of the Community of St. John. 15 priests and 14 deacons to be ordained to come Vezelay, in this year priesthood. The Community of St. John has 530 brothers, 200 priests from 35 countries, in 60 priories. The founder, the Dominican Marie-Dominique Philippe (1912-2006), wanted to establish small communities (silent prayer life and apostolic service to the Church). Already present in Belgium and Libramont Banneux, she will settle in 2010 Jette (Brussels) in the convent of La Madeleine, left by the Redemptorists: a monastery in the city, a place of meditation and listening. Priority: supporting youth and families (youth camps, Sunday families, family session, children worship, marriage preparation, home to the blockade, etc.. (According to Stella Maris, 09/09 and Families United, 09/09).

Moms and vocations in France. This country has become a mission country. If the former mission countries (Africa in the lead) give us priests today, it is because "moms, transmitting to their son on their knees, unconditional love of Jesus, led in turn to vocations to hatch "(after Guillaume A.-M., Family Christian, 7-11-09).

Belgium: 5 new seminarians in Flanders; total seminarians, unknown. French-speaking Belgium: 11 new. Total: Liège (including 3 new) 8: Namur 32 (including 8 new) Mechelen-Brussels French: 3 (no new); Tournai 3 (no again).

"On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have posted watchmen: day and night, they will never be silent" (Isaiah, 62, 6).

Defense Life

Surprising news from UNAIDS, the official organ of prevention against AIDS: the male and female condoms are guaranteed quality products only currently available to protect against STDs, including HIV. However, aside from abstinence, no protective method is 100% and condom use can not guarantee protection absolute against STIs!

Prenatal diagnosis and preimplantation. Francois Fillon, in a letter to the State Council on February 11, 2008 revision of the bioethics law, became concerned about the use of prenatal diagnosis and preimplantation: "The provisions governing the practice ensure an application Effective rule against any eugenic practice? "(After Gènéthique, 02/09).

Winds of Change in the Netherlands? A Congress for the defense of life and family was held in The Hague. In this country of excessive tolerance, a minister Liberal, despite pressure from his party who left the Congress, has dared to say that "back to the defense of the family normally consists was a great help to our society." Commentary Friesh Dagblad: "People are willing to accept anything, as the presence of a minister to gay pride. And when a minister is saying things make sense, everyone is serious and wants it banned! "(Youth for Life, July-August 2009).

Against abortion in Cameroon: Cardinal Tumi (Archbishop of Douala) and 20,000 people marched against the abortion and homosexuality, the call of the Catholic Church. A petition of 30,000 signatures was handed to the President of the Republic.

against abortion in Spain. In March, between 100,000 and 500,000 people marched in Madrid to "the right to life" and against the proposed partially liberalize abortion: a first major mobilization supported by the Catholic Church, which claims that animals being disappearance, as the lynx, are better protected than human embryos ... (La Libre, 30.03.2009).
adolescents of 16 years may abort without parental consent. We will consider abortion as a right. And doctors could no longer invoke conscientious objection. The Popular Party has announced that if the law was passed, he denounces the Constitutional Court. It evokes for the first time the possibility of revising the 1985 law. Another walk a million demonstrators took place in Madrid on October 17 (the Belgians were). The episcopate is the spearhead of this battle: Cardinal Varela has promised that this crusade "will intensify until the withdrawal of the bill" (after Le Figaro, 24-10-09).

The surprising conversion of the director of a U.S. abortion mill
Abby Johnson worked for eight years in the Planned Parenthood abortion mill Bryan (Texas), she became director in 2007. However, before an abortion mill that David Bereit, national director of 40 Days for Life, launched in 2004 as the first and only security guard that year: the most powerful campaign to life in the world. "From the first campaign in 2004, we prayed for Abby, and all other abortion workers, come to see what abortion really drop and the industry of death". Five years later, Abby has left the management of this abortion mill in the fourteenth day of the sixth vigil 40 Days for Life. His real catch: he could see the ultrasound image of a genuine abortion: a fetus curled up, sucked from the womb of the mother. It was "a spiritual conversion." This is the eighth person working in abortion mill to have resigned during the campaign of 40 Days for Life. Another abortion mill also shut its doors. The campaign takes place in 212 cities in 25 states, 5 Canadian provinces and Denmark.

40 Days for Life: D + 32, more than 542 babies (already) saved: a cautionary tale! On the evening of the 32nd day of the autumn campaign of 40 Days for Life, more than 400 babies had been saved from death. Here's a cautionary tale. A vigil was held just outside the Planned Parenthood abortion mill in 24 hours 24. A car stops a few meters from the group praying, the driver of the car is a sign to approach: a member of the group realizes that she is crying bitterly. She said that at the age of 27, she underwent an abortion in the same abortion mill, and she bitterly regrets. Had there been someone, anyone, being pray at the abortion mill on the day she went, she would certainly have renounced abortion. Similarly, a woman who had an abortion 26 years here and never got delivered to the point of considering suicide: now it is a pro-life.

Vitality of faith

Strengthening of Catholicism in the United States. Rene Girard, French philosopher living there, answered in an interview: "I see American Catholicism as ever grow stronger in the U.S. ... The dominant vision of Catholicism in America is that it has become, by far, the first American church over the past half-century (...). There is no collapse of the image of Pope ... His visit in spring 2008 was a success (...). I am surprised by the hostility that you mentioned. I have not seen signs of it "(Le Figaro, 22-10).

Return of bap-tems adults. In France, the Church has welcomed nearly 3,000 catechumens during the Easter vigil. Their num-ber is on the rise. In Belgium, the adults were baptized 140 at the Easter Vigil in 2009 (109 last year), especially women and youth (20-35 years) applications are more important in the south. For cons, the number of requests for baptism of infants is narrowing. Baptisms of adults are more frequent in areas that have already undergone head-secularization. Preparation (discernment and tracking) lasts two years. According to La Libre, 13.04.2009, these catechumens Belgian 20 to 35 years, from diverse backgrounds, of Belgian origin, but also foreign, seeking baptism, confirmation and the sacrament of the Eucharist . Among them, there are repeating (read: people who had been baptized, but had cut ties with the Church), in addition, many people who had no contact with religion.

This opens spiritual doors "(from L'Avenir du Luxembourg, 28/09/09). - It's "The boom cohorts", title Family Christian (6-6-09) in recent years is a revival that became a place of education, brotherhood and awakening to the priestly vocation. Every day he prayed God to deliver and anxiously watched the horizon to signal to any vessel which eventually could move around. Returning one day with his food, he was horrified at the sight of his hut in flames. Worse, it seemed, had happened: everything which enabled him to survive went up in smoke! But what, at first, seemed a great tragedy and, in the limited mind of man, proved disastrous was in fact a unique opportunity for him.

In the infinite wisdom of God, this apparent loss was the answer to his fervent prayer. The same day, in fact, came a boat: "We saw your smoke signal, I come to save you," said the captain ... . At a time when everything seems to crumble, why not take what we think of disasters in a positive direction and discover what God has made us better? Let us remember always the assertion of St. Paul: "To those who love God works in all things for good. "(Rom 8, 28).

Jesus was on his way to save in extremis, the daughter of Jairus (picture above). The servants of the latter came to tell him it was too late, that he should no longer disturb the master. But Jesus said to Jairus: "Do not be afraid, just believe! Then it humanly nothing left to do, that any calls to discouragement, the time of supernatural hope has arrived. No, Jesus never comes too late. Prior to resurrect this 12 year old girl, he asks only for a deeper faith, a unlimited confidence in him, who can do anything, anytime. It would also require full trust to the two sisters of Lazarus, before leaving it to his grave. Often, it seems that Jesus did not come to meet our needs, but then he gives us a much greater thanks!

reviews Christians AGAINST their own church

plenary indulgence. According to La Libre February 3, drifts like indulgences whole, it seems, ridicule the Church and away from her many lay people involved ...

Response from a reader of Brabant Wallon Movement "Wallonia-Church" in connection with an article for Sunday 25-10-09:
1) If you "dimension of the Roman Church is increasingly an obstacle for many, would you more or less of Churches autocephalous, freed a Roman Church, which language would you think "complicated and sanitized? It would reject the universal vocation of our Church.
2) "The scale disproportionately linked to life sexual ecclesiastical documents? But the responsibility lies with the Western media. Our society is obsessed with sex.
3) The Church "obscures the richness of the Christian message" and "veil bold pronouncements on social and economic? And to think that Benedict XVI, in his Caritas in Veritate, offers a perspective full blast a stunning panorama of the bubbling of the global economy! Would it be that the Western Europeans to miss the treasures offered by their Church, always eager to catch her out, whatever they do or not do? That is exactly what the Church wants. A faithful to play!

According to the Secretary General of the CSC (Confederation of Christian Trade Unions) "(...) the Vatican is positioned as an ultra-conservative force, at odds with the experiences of Christians as non-Christians. It is a far cry from the reality of people's lives, miles away from their problems and suffering. " (According to La Libre, 31/03/09)

Objections against Bishops in Europe
In Avignon, eight priests deans have resigned on February 3 the parish council of Bishop Cattenoz, protesting against their authoritarian Archbishop who wanted to appeal to communities and priests in Latin America, to Africa and Eastern Europe to counter the lack of local vocations. It is simply the resignation of the Archbishop who is desired by some clergy and laity: they fear that the arrival of new priests for an end to privileges they were granted. In the diocese of Lucon, Archbishop Castet also known a wind of controversy: priests and faithful clericalized blame him .... Vatican to respect the letter! Situation even more explosive in Bayeux, Saint-Brieuc or Poitiers, company when it shall be appointed bishops who want to redress the situation by following the way traced out by Sovereign Pontiff.

In Austria, liberal Catholics have called to remove what appeared to be restrictive and frustrating the priesthood for men, obedience to the Apostolic See, liturgical rites, morals, etc.. Basically, they are happy to see the fall of priestly vocations: the scarcity of priests allows them to be even more active in parishes and preparing minds for the emergence of a "new church".

"Decline of the Catholic Church: it is five! "Shameful article by a Jesuit Cairo, presented without comment (!) By Sunday of 30-8-09 as" a connoisseur of the Catholic Church. " An open letter to Pope criticizing 10 points, including "On the moral injunctions of the Magisterium, repeated ad nauseam, [which] will affect more people and generate only lassitude and indifference," etc.. Worthy of a film anti-Christian!

Christianophobia

Attack of Turkish Christians. In some parts of Turkey, the homes of Christians were marked by stickers of different colors, making reference to their Greek and Armenian origin (from The New Man, 12/09/09).

Father Damien, a new target of Christianophobia RTBF
"As luck on the eve of the canonization of Father Damien, RTBF (Belgian public television) has reaffirmed his anti-Catholic bias primary and has aired a poor report attempting to undermine the miracles attributed to this fine example of what the Belgian missionary this holy priest dedicated to the salvation of lepers. Dare she attack the way to other religions? No, it is only and always Catholics! Catholics, it is your duty to protest! Wake up, defend the Faith! (Belgium and Christianity, 8-10-09)

"Big commotion among the laity" to escape the Roman rulers of our accompanied a government delegation. Which cost € 50,000, less than 0.005 € per citizen! And it happened that the King was a Muslim, we would prohibit the pilgrimage to Mecca? "(A reader, to the future, 14-10). And laïcards to be scandalized because the king made a genuflection before the Pope at the canonization of Damien! "In autumn, when the duck-yard pass to see wild ducks in the sky, some are hit by stirring frantically flap their wings and rump shaking. Veterinarians say such gestures are periodic but temporary. Abortions: the Netherlands, 600,000 from the liberalization law ; 36,000 a year. Worldwide 50 million per year.

Incredible! A nun from Chicago "companion" of women who go for abortion. New abominable, as is the crime with which it deals and which depicts a nun actively engaged in abortion and is therefore excommunicated latae sententiae ... Sister Donna Quinn, a Dominican nun (Wisconsin), was recognized many times to accompany women from abortion, to convince them they do nothing wrong ... She never misses an opportunity to insult the pro-life activists, especially when they are men: "No, but Look at me these men who claim to tell women what to do with their bodies! "Did you hear the howling on one occasion. She is now the coordinator of a small group in dissent complete with the Church on issues of abortion - which is not an intrinsic evil, according to her! -, Homosexuality, contraception and the priesthood for men. We understand why the canonical visitation of all monasteries of nuns apostolic United States was necessary and why they are so hostile religious apostolic visit to that canon ...

Prophetic Reflections on Catholicism (in 1968!):
"Everyone does not believe, no longer practicing what he sings. But the last vicar or the last chaplain of Catholic Action, as the most ignorant journalists, all with a slice of certainty and infallible judge intolerable that other priests and faithful can not think like him. When one has lost any sense of authority, we see a kind of rebirth neo-clericalism of the laity Moreover, as clerics, more limited, more intolerant, more meddlesome than anything we had ever seen.

"The word today is to lay people, it seems, but on this point as on all others, provided of course they stick to repeating what they said meekly. If they protest and want, for example, keep at least the Latin hymns of the Ordinary of the Mass, with which they are familiar, they reply that their protest is worthless (....). This is all the more curious they want exactly what the Council had recommended. It emphasized once

that traditional churches and the Catholic Church primarily, their liturgy objective, safeguarding the spiritual liberty of the faithful against the intrusive and oppressive subjectivity easily clerics. But that, it remains nothing. The contemporary Catholics have no right to have the religion of their parish priest, with all its idiosyncrasies, its limitations, his mannerisms and his trivia.

VII. RIGHT OF REPLY about "Mohamed Sabaou"
(No. 74, "Truth and Hope 3000 "pp. 8-9).

We, in good faith, published an article entitled "Islamic Threat to Europe ', repeating remarks attributed to Mahomed Sabaou and received via the Internet. It appears that these are excerpts from an interview with someone who presents himself as a young sociologist Muslim of Algerian origin, naturalized French, and reproduced in a book by Philippe Aziz, The paradox of Roubaix, Plon, 1996. This text would be inserted regularly in "All boxes" of the North and was taken up in a prayer bulletin of June 2008, the Sentinel of prayer. This would be about transcribed by reporters while exaggerating to emphasize the danger of radical Islamism. Without prejudging the merits of the case, we ask our readers and the University of Lille excuse us, and we give the benefit of good faith. In fact the person concerned is no teacher at the Catholic University of Lille, which has denounced the thing and asked us to publish the right answer here:

several years of messages circulating on the internet about immigration and Islam in the region, and incorporating the comments attributed to a certain Mohamed Sabawi, described as "young sociologist at the Catholic University of Lille, Algerian-born, naturalized French." The Catholic University of Lille confirms that since 1996, when the first release of this information, this "alleged" person was never part of the staff of the University, whether as a student, teacher or member staff. The University strongly condemns the theories developed in these messages and articles.
The Catholic University of Lille has complained to the prosecutor Tribunal de Grande Instance de Lille has opened a criminal investigation be entrusted to the Judicial Police. It shows that: the judicial police are able to identify the perpetrators of these items email; Mohamed Sabawi never existed. The Catholic University of Lille application to any person receiving such messages do not repost to avoid further fuel this false rumor.

Year 2009-2010 priestly

"Oh! that the priest is something great! If he realized, he would die ... God obeys him: he said two words and the Lord descended from heaven at his voice to be contained within a small host ... "And to explain to his followers the importance of the sacraments, he said:" If we don ' had not the Sacrament of Orders, we would not our Lord. Who was it who put it there in the tabernacle? The priest. Who is it that our soul has received its entry into the world? The priest. Who feeds your soul and give strength to his pilgrimage? The priest. Who will prepare to appear before God, by washing that soul for the last time in the blood of Jesus Christ? The priest, always the priest. And if the soul dies [because of sin], who will raise, who will restore calm and peace? Again, the priest ... After God, the priest is everything ... the priest does he fully realize that in the sky.
