1. Editorial: the heyday of the Church in 2008
The visibility of the Church occupies the media and concerned about the Episcopal Conferences in Europe. This visibility is through a better response to spiritual needs of our contemporaries. The Episcopal Conference of France had its program in November 2008: "religious indifference and visibility of the Church." The latter appears to be decreasing, but the ones we consider indifferent are often preoccupied with the problem of values. It is necessary to distinguish between media exposure and visibility Christian, because it shows the Church of Christ as the sign of His Mystical Body. In that respect, 2008 is particularly rich. Here are three events.
First is the 49th International Eucharistic Congress in Quebec City from June 15 to 22, an exceptional week: the presence of 50,000 faithful from some forty countries and each day of conferences accompanied by solemn concelebrations dozens of Hundreds of bishops and priests on June 20, Ordination Young priests, eight of Famille Marie-Jeunesse, a new community of evangelization of youth.
The highlight of the year is the gathering of 350,000 young Christians from 200 nations in Sydney, Australia from July 13 to 20, with the Pope Benedict XVI, after two years of preparation: traveling evangelists in the outward and return journeys, Asia, Taiwan and Australia, the major celebrations in the midst of tens of thousands of enthusiastic young and enthusiastic, and a closing celebration with 400,000 young and old.
Finally, the highly publicized trip of Benedict XVI in France, September 12 Paris: meeting with 700 representatives of culture at the College of Bernardine; gathering of thousands of young people on the forecourt of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame, 10,000 young people, lighted candle in hand, to the "path of light" along the Seine 60,000 young people spending the night on the Esplanade des Invalides on Saturday 13, 260,000 young and old to Mass concelebrated by 90 bishops and 1,500 priests (including several at the end jumped over barricades to surround a delighted Pope ) and the next day at Lourdes, a fervent Marian pilgrimage in the city, where six million pilgrims flock in this jubilee year. Many
were impressed by the immense and lasting silence, which left stunned commentators on radio, while the Pope prayed at night in the cave: we know that many "tough guys" have cried at that moment in front of their TV and have converted ...
These three events of 2008 show a visible and vibrant Catholic Church and a youth "who raises wheat" for rich harvests. We wish you a holy feast of Nativity of the Lord and a happy new year 2009.

pluripotent cells: a real progress ! Two teams, Tokyo and Washington, pluripotent cells were obtained from samples of human skin: this is a step of great importance for the prospects of cell therapy. The bust of a politician turned red to the stock market? A fatwa fulminated from Mons would immediately pulverized. But why not a big Jesus crowned with thorns, paper mache, sprawled in an armchair watching TV? Awesome! The cathos are accustomed to them and hit them back to do the big name of tolerance ... Here is exposed a "masterpiece" of Fine Arts of a modern-Hystero Collective, witnessed a primary anti-Christianity . Well no! we are tired of these jokes in poor taste and see our Christian symbols operated by an ad ridiculing one that prevents us not to worship as the Son of God. Derision ends persecution: see Christians in Iraq and India! We advocate for usability in a delicate mutual respect for each conviction: we hate buffoonery. 4. The Church seen by a Protestant pastor converted
In The coup de grace (Trinidad Publishing Media Communication, Paris, 2000), the Protestant pastor Richard BORGMAN develops pleasure in what he loves the Catholic Church. For him, Catholics should welcome the great treasure of the church, untouched since 2000 years. The parable of Matthew (13, 44) does it not say that he who has found a treasure in a field sells everything he has to acquire it? The author loves anything that affects the church: the Vatican, the Magisterium, the Catechism, pilgrimages, cathedrals, Marian meditation of the mysteries of the rosary, etc..
Tradition, we can be proud of, and the scripture spring from the same source: Jesus. By evacuating the Tradition, Borgman believed that he needed one, since "God spoke to him directly! So he developed a certain pride and missed something important. "When a Catholic becomes aggressive, independent and got rid of the Tradition of the Church, I cry. When someone disparages my big brother ... the pope, my heart is torn, "said Borgman, who fears the protestant church.
Obedience confident (which Mary gives us the example) that advance the whole Church together. In this community, united and living, each has its place and can be cured of solitude. The goal of Satan is to put the mess in that order, to prevent the body of the Church to function as a spiritual head (Christ) and body (the Church).
Hence the importance to Borgman, the communion of saints: "What joy to know we're not fighting alone! The angels and saints help us effectively in spiritual warfare. The world is perishing, because we are not asking saints to intercede with us. " Prayers for our deceased can certainly help; Some also believe they can intercede for us, but the Catechism of the Catholic Church does not affirm this point.
Here are some other jewels of the treasure: the Eucharist, "or massive presence of Jesus" confession, a unique and wonderful experience, which gives us the grace of a deep inner peace and deliver us from guilt ; the priesthood, allowing meditation, contemplation, life devoted to God alone. For Borgman and his wife, the highest honor their son Scott would become a priest. Finally, here's their valuable perspective about the ecumenical-ménisme " We can build bridges between the different denominations (Christian) that if we are steadfast in our Catholic identity, and not reducing everything to the lowest common denominator. "

"The distinction between clergy and laity goes back to the choice of the Apostles, narrated in Mark 3, 13-19. The laity, too, must work to establish the Kingdom, not only in secular works, where they enjoy autonomy, but also in the apostolic work, by which cons are subject to the authority pastors title ... So going there in a parish council, responsible for assisting the pastor, he never give orders. It is a grave mistake to blur the distinction between priests and laity. Is first prescribed to oppose the evangelical and depreciate the sacrament of orders and is also selling off the priestly responsibilities and open wide the door to doctrinal excesses. We had moms that catechists have their good will, and yet, one of them made no secret of his disbelief! Replace the laity to the priests, is creating what Paul VI called "the destruction of the Church." A layman in a parish bulletin in the region of Namur

Who dares thus finally throw a big kick in the anthill 'rebels' who 'used' to their advantage the Second Vatican Council to express their individual fantasies? They ignored the vast silent majority of believers who, tired of having to bear these outrages have Sunday with great sadness, gradually left, not necessarily the Church but churches, on tiptoe. These lines I have been inspired primarily by my admiration for the courage of VE. A reader of the province of Luxembourg
"Great, thank you for your excellent review, always helpful, of great interest to read and keeps us informed of the progress of the world and the Church. Kudos to you. After reading, I send it to the Abbot of St. Wandrille (Normandy), who greatly appreciated. We have already been sentenced to very heavy fines and charged us for being opposed to the law of abortion in France.
